New Massey Ferguson GC2310 Problems Rusted Piston Rod , Missing grease fittings

Just puschased a new GC2310 very  unhappy . First the piston rod on my stick was rusted, thought it was just surface but noticed it was comming form under the chrome . Second the stick has to access holes in it near the bucket, this is to allow acces to the bucket to stick linkage pins for the purpose of greaseing them. To my supprise when a went to grease these pins through the access holes I notice that there were no grease fittings in the pins. Am I missing something here, note the holes in the pins were not even tapped for grease fittings.

generaly there are not grease fittings on any loader stick linkage. Is this a new tractor? Can you get these things looked at under warrenty?

Yes it is a brand new GC2310. I just wand to know who builds backhoe and loaders for Massey? The other thing is that the owners manual tells you to grease these two points. Why would they put holes in the stick box to asssess thes pins. Note looked through acess whole at pins with a fiber optic bore scope noticed holes were drilled in pins but not taped for grease fittings.

they probably use self taping zerks. I'd have your dealer lookup the parts diagram and see if a zerk is listed. They could also just mean a spray on lithium grease to keep the linkage loose.
