Front mounted snow blower pricing for Kubota BX2350

I received a quote from my Kubota dealer for a front mount snow blower with hydraulic chute rotation for the BX2350.  Compared to a similiar setup for a John Deere 2305, the Kubota price is about a thousand dollars more than the JD.  The only noticeable difference is the Kubota is 50 inch vs, 47 inch for the John Deere.

I am just wondering if anybody knows if this is a normal price difference or am I missing something.  The quote did not give any specific break down of the price. I plan to talk to the dealer but was curious to see if anybody can explain the price difference.

If the breakdown your looking at is truly apples to apples, somthing is wrong. In reality, both tractors are using the same snow blower. Its made by a company in Canada called RAD, NH - Deere and Kubota all use them for their snow equipment. It could be that one dealer has other components like the quick hitch, valve, etc bundled in with other items in your quote.

Thanks for the feedback.  I called the Kubota sales guy this afternoon to have him reconfirm his price.  I plan to go back this weekend and take a closer look at the BX2350 and nail down the pricing.  He confirmed that the snowblower he quoted has hydraulic chute rotation and manual deflector the same as the John Deere.  The only difference at this point is the 50" vs. 47" width.  I'll update this post as soon as I get a confirmed price.  Thanks again for the information.

Re: Front mounted snow blower pricing for Kubota BX2350

As I mentioned in another post, I settled on the BX2350 with 60" MMM. We talked about the difference in price of the 50" snowblower vs. the JD 47" and both having hydraulic chute rotation. The Kubota dealer rechecked his price and came down a couple hundered dollars but was still $1K more than the John Deere. He is going to do more research and worse case I am sure I can add a third party snowblower for an acceptale price. Any idea why his price book is showing such a high price for the Kubota snowblower?

$3895 for the Kubota in which he came down to (I believe) around $3700. The JD was $2750. Both are hydraulic chute rotation and manual chute deflection.

List Price for the snow blower components

    Blower - $1490
    BX2754 Hydraulic Rotation - $625
    Quick Hitch Subframe - 470
Mid PTO Drive Kit - 485

    Total MSRP - $3070 (w/o freight & Setup charges)

IMO, it sounds like your dealer is charnging full MSRP plus freight and setup charges on top of that.

Thanks for the info.  I'll try and get a breakdown of his price to see how it compares.  So far he hasn't shown me a price breakdown, only the total cost.

I just talked to my Kubota dealer and he confirmed that I do not have the hydraulic valve kit.  This evidently is an option on the Kubota whereas it is standard on JD.  He said it ran $577.  So that pretty much adds up to the difference in price with the JD once you add in prep and delivery.

Your problem here, and I know a year has past, is the result of Kubota's business plan.  For the tractors, they strive to set a lower price than John Deere, through spec, setup and Margin.  To drive up their sales.

But for the attachments (especially if they know off the bat that you are getting more than one attachment) they jack up the price to offset their margin they lost on the tractor.

Most people price the tractor, and never price the attachments.  A good deal is never what it seems.  Did you go in there with a price on the John Deere Tractor?  If you did, was he lower?  I wonder why?  Because he knew he was going to get you on the snowblower, so he dropped the price on the tractor.

What your are saying maybe true about that dealers way of doing business, however its not the way Kubota sets up their pricing. The same 50" RAD blower is offered in Green, Orange, or Blue. If you look at pure MSRP the orange one is a good 10% cheaper than the others and its an idential product. I believe thats freely available on their respective websites.

Re: Front mounted snow blower pricing for Kubota BX2350

As I recall, the price on the JD tractor was more than $1200 over the price of the Kubota.  When I added the snowblower to the Kubota I found out that I needed the front hydraulics which was about $500 additional.  I am not positive, but I believe the JD came with front hydraulics so the cost of the snowblower would of appeared cheaper, which in turn makes the JD not so terribly more expensive than the Kubota.

A more important note is, I had to wait over ten months to get the electric chute deflector installed.  According to the dealer, he just couldn't get them in.
