What is the difference of Gardening & Landscaping...?

What is the difference of Gardening & Landscaping...?

I am studying about Landscaping or Gardening. (I am not sure which word is appropriate for me)

When I study the book or research on the internet, I can not distinguish this words Landscaping and Gardening.

I may not understand because I am not a american and not a native speaker.

Please, explain for me.

If you are confused, just reply like this "it is confuing for me".

There's probably many definitions available but here's how I look at it.

Landscaping is the overall changes required for the finish product.  It's the "big picture" if it was put on paper to show the end result.  It may require movement of earth, building of walls or other structures, ponds or other water areas, placement of rocks or other decorative things as well as any planting of grass or decorative plants.

Gardening relates more specifically to the planting of any vegetation (be it flowers, shrubs or other plants).

I'd think of gardening as anything edible, landscaping is everything else.

when I hear garden, I think someone is growing tomatoes, cucumbers, etc,, Landscaping is the finish product in front of a home, Such as walls, walkways, floweres including specific types of flowers, trees, etc , etc
