Servicing Costs

 I have a 900 that is coming up on it's 50 hour service appointment and was wondering what a typical cost would be for the service? The machine has been great as long as I keep it out of peat boggs!

     That will give you a idea of the cost of the oil / filters for your RTV 900 . May I make a simple suggestion, when going back with your transmission fluid, go back with the Super UDT, machine runs stronger and smoother !!!!

    Something else, if you plan doing any service work or tinkering on your unit yourself, do yourself and the machine a favor and purchase the RTV 900 shop manual, it's worth it's weight in gold.

   What are your plans with your RTV ???????  What are you planning on installing on the new machine. Another suggestion, REMOVE THE SPARK ARESSTOR ( If your not running on Goverment Property ) and pick yourself one of them High Rise Intakes for the 900.  Also, look at this link:

i second the motion about the big grips . the other day i hooked onto my 16' scrap iron trailer that weighed a little over 1200lbs dry(unloaded) and it had just a few pounds over 5100lbs of iron on it .when i lowered it down  onto my reciever hitch it bent it about 3" down . then when i got on the hpx and started it up and locked the rearend up and gave it gas the front tires came off the ground i felt like i was in a tractor pulling contest. well i took off with the tires about 6"off the ground and lucky i just had to go in a straight line but there was a muddy spot in my yard where the mud was really soft and yousink about 6"/7" sometimes more i went through that without even spinning a tires . there was so much weight on the rear tires plus the grip of the 27"589's was workin just right.here are some pictures . oh here's another thought for anyone who wants to know if their rtv can pull so much weight i pulled this amount wich was right at or should i say just under 6200lbs . now i done that with a belt drive machine rated to pull a max of 2k the belt never slipped and the engine never sputtered so just thing what a rtv can do with the tranny it has. this is 3x over the max limit i was supose to haul .

 the first service on my rtv1100 was just over 300.00.

 I have heard of some dealers charging that much for a full transmission / engine service work ....

  A owner can not only save Big $$$$$$$ by doing his own service, but can also learn more about his machine by doing it him / her self >>>>>

  That's why I tell so many folks, when purchasing , make the dealer throw in the first service free. It's a big plus on the dealing table ~~~~~

Thanks for all of the information. The servicing ended up a tad over $280. She runs likes a top.

I appreciate the comments on the high traction tires. I seem to have issues on sand at steep inclines and deep mud too.

I did buy the additional manuals and plan on doing my own service from here on out as long as I have the time.
