Strengths The Diahatsu diesel engine runs very smooth and strong. Great 4wd traction with the bar tires and suitcase weights and differntial lock. Very comfortable for a tall person, I'm 6'5" and have plenty of leg room. Seperate hydro pedals for fwd and rev. Moves from hi to lo range and back easily.
The 60" MMM, included in the $9950 purchase price, cuts very well. You can cut when the grass is wet and still get a good cut.
Parts support from Cub Cadet is great. The dealer can get parts in 1 or 2 days. There was never a delay in getting parts.
Weaknesses I have had a few problems in the first year of ownership. There was a problem with the 2004 model transmissions. A vendor supplied part was not made to the Cub Cadet spec and there were some failures. The dealer and Cub replaced the entire transmission assembly without delay.
The lift cylinder had a very slow leak, dealer replaced under warranty. The PTO clutch squeeked, dealer replaced under warranty. Cub Cadet even gave me a third year of bumper to bumper warranty for free.
Overall Overall I am very happy with the performance of the tractor. I have removed 9" of snow with my 6' rear blade on a 500' driveway without losing traction at all. It cuts grass very well. I was also quite happy how it handled the 4' box blade. I am told that the problems I had with my 2004 tractor have been taken care of with the 2005 models. My dealer took care of all my problems without question and Cub Cadet expedited the replacement of my tansmission. I would buy this tractor again. I may buy another one with a FEL.
Make sure you buy from a good dealer, the dealer can make all the difference.
