Strengths I purchased my 26HP diesel Cub Cadet 7264 with a 60" mower and 54" Snow Blower new in 2003. It's been a very reliable tractor with no significant issues ater 305 hours of use. It's a pretty heavy duty tractor.

Weaknesses I've had to replace most of the linkage pins with something better than originally delivered.

Overall I mow about 3 acres weekly and snow blow 400' of drive way in upstate NY. I'm satisfied and purchase it again. All of the maintenance items are available at Napa and their are shop manuals available on the internet.

Strengths Great Cat diesel engine (made by Perkins). Does a good job of mowing with the 60" belly mower.

Weaknesses Poor engineering (Cub engineers should be embarrassed they designed this so poorly). Tach and hour meter went out after 150 hours. Dealer wanted $250 to fix. No way. Front seals leak, 3 point hitch has broken twice with barely any load on it. Muffler broke at manifold, battery light never goes off, 2 grease zerts won't take grease. Back lights quit working

Overall this could be a very good tractor if cub would put some basic solid engineering in to their product. This is the second and last cub I will own--dealer agreed to take back the first one as it was a total lemon (kawasaki gas engine which never ran)

Strengths na

Weaknesses additionally anyone who owns this machine. Check the right side frame bolts. I have 6 behind the right rear tire the back out. This causes alot of problems with the tranny.

Overall

Strengths There are no strenghts to this machine.

Weaknesses This machine sits unused because of the poor electrical components that it has. it will not start again after using for a short time. Have constantly replaced wiring harness, pto switch, and ignition switch. Manufactur will not stand behind this product.

Overall This product is horrible. Do not purchase this. I found out about the recall of the shifter accidentally while I was searching for other owners of this model having similar problems.

Strengths 26 HD Diesel

Weaknesses constant problems Tach went out 3 times, factory recalled for shifter modifications, deck MUST be greased every 10 hrs or bearings go out. Relays failed, electronic dash problems and Power steering cylinder broke (welded cylinder not rebuildable) all with less than 150 hrs on it.

Overall poor for a USA made HD unit.

Strengths Strong tractor loader works great.We have a 24 inch auger for plant installation.This tractor is only for Landscaping.

Weaknesses Trans was noisey. But was fixed.Gear up date kit

Overall We will be adding a cub 6284 to the list.This tractor is yard friendly
