Strengths When the engine isn't sputtering, it is very convenient.
Weaknesses The choke sticks, the fumes are overwhelming, engine misses.
Overall This is the worst purchase I ever made. When it didn't run properly, we returned it to the dealer. The dealer supposedly fixed the problem and returned it to us. this happened on several occasions. When we spoke to a Cub Cadet representative,Dick Cotter, he was unwilling to help. Why should he, they already had our money. After 5 years, it still sits, worthless, in our garage.

Strengths Honda engine. Great power.
Weaknesses Choke cable freezes.moved under seat. Tramision housing cracked, fixed by dealer. took over 60 days for parts. I had to have it totally rebuilt soon after(on my dime) . Front tie rod broke while going downhill, with the poor braking system we wound up in the creek. Plactic moldings break easly and are very expensive{over 900.00 to date}. Universals and drive chains replaced. Just this week the front rim split into two pieces. dealer says rim is not available. I must buy the retrofit kit witch includes the spindel, hub and rim at over 200.00 per side. also they are not the same size so I need two new tires also. We just welded it. to many other small items to list.
Overall Strong engine, But you better be very handy to keep this one in service

Strengths I purchased my Big Country ('new') in the spring of 2003. Even though I am a John Deere man, at the time the JD 'Gator' did not have as good of a frame nor the weight (500 lbs less) that I needed for some of my projected HD tasks. The Big Country does everything I ask of it & MORE. I use it for countless tasks on my produce farm. I had a special hitch mounted on the front so I can also use it in my storage business to move boats & tent campers in & out of buildings. Some of these are big ski boats on tandem axle trailers with heavy tongue weights. I also use it to move my irrigation (pipe) wagon as well as my JD 7000 planter, a grain drill & other implements... sometimes UP-HILL to my bank b
Weaknesses Yes, it's a bit cold-blooded in cooler weather & the gear shift takes some getting used to.
Overall I have used it for 3 springs, summers & falls (150+ hours) and I have not had to to anything other than routine maintainance (i.e. engine oil, filters & spark plugs). In fact I'm looking to purchase another (2nd) Big Country to keep up with the growth of our produce business.
NOTE: Without going through my records, I can't recall what I paid for it. I do know that I took advantage of their offer of 12 months same-as-cash.
