Strengths Good strong enhine. Smooth Hydrostatic Transmission. Comfortable to ride.
Weaknesses Can't get the mower deck to cut evenly. Leaves grass standing (as if the blades aren't sharp) but it has brand new blades. Gouges grass when turning. Nothing seems to make a difference. Adjusted the deck like the manufacture says to do but the same thing keeps happening.
Overall Nice mower, reliable, just wish the damned thing would cut evenly..

Strengths pretty
Weaknesses grass piles up on top of mowing deck. Have to stop every acre or so to spend 15 minutes cleaning off grass jammed solid between top of mower deck and base of tractor.

Strengths Mows well even in very high grass. 18.5 hp motor equal to mowing tall grass up steep banks. Does not leave unmowed strip down middle when cutting very tall grass. I mow 5 acres and this is the best mower I have owned. Consumes very little gas.
Weaknesses I am short and the drive pedal is hard to operate. If you move seat forward enough to reach the pedals it rocks easily and shuts off the blades. Need a drive pedal extension!
Overall Had to replace belts after 2 years and found previous owner had replaced with inferior (much narrower and thinner) belts. Replaced with OEM belts and works just fine.

Weaknesses Biggest POS I have ever owned. Eats deck belts (3 Per acre of cutting) I have replaced at least 15 belts since last late summer.

Strengths Starts easy, cuts well, comfortable to ride on.
Weaknesses Engine seems weak, more like a 10HP. Hydro drive slow and under sized. Bagger system works ok but the discharge chute had to be modified to fit.
Overall After two years of use (only about 100 hrs) It is overall ok. Has not given any major problems but takes time to warm up and have enough power to climb small hills while cutting. Wish it had a better engine.

Strengths Does excellent job of cutting lawn; very even. Comfortable driving position and seems reasonably well constructed compared to other low line mowers.
Weaknesses Continual electrical system problem since purchased 5 months ago. Mower refused to keep charge on battery. Lowe's support is absolutely awful. Local store (Warner Robins, GA) is rude and will only tell you to call 1-800 number. Mower has been unsuccessfully repaired once; took 3 weeks. Since then, Lowes at least has been swapping out batteries so I can get through the mowing season.
Overall Cub Cadet is a decent mower; Lowe's is awful. Since the same price and often the 12 month free financing are often available from independent Cub Cadet dealers, I would recommend purchase there instead of from Lowe's.
