Strengths THIS MOWER HAS NO STRENGTHS, IT CAN'T PULL ITSELF UP NOMINAL GRADES!

Weaknesses This is the biggest piece of JUNK I have ever seen, it goes through drive belts and mower deck belts - Belts keep falling off. The tires are oversize inertubes. It has NO power even though it is a 20 HP! I own two old Cub Cadets a 1966 115 and a 1970 107 both of these are and were GREAT MACHINES but that was when International Harvester built them. Now it is a big PICE OF "CRAP" and whoever engineered it is a idiot! Cub Cadet should be taken to court in a action to require them to purchase this junk back and refund the full amount due to the crap I had to put up with over the past 2 yeaars. Someone should also sue HOME DEPOT for selling it and NOT EVEN HAVING THE SPARE PARTS TO KEEP THE PIECE OF CRAP RUNNING. Signed Really PO"d

Strengths Ease of handling, walk thru deck, comfortable ride.

Weaknesses Biggest piece of junk I have ever bought. Whoever engineered the deck and belts on this mower should be fired immediately. Cub Cadet should recall ALL of these mowers and either fix the deck belt jumping off issue or give EVERY customer who bought them their money back or option to trade for a mower that actually will mow for 5 minutes without the belt jumping off and yes mine comes off even after start up--no rhyme or reason.

Overall There have been many times I wished I smoked because if I carried a lighter, I would have burnt this piece of junk to the ground and sold the metal for scrap iron. My Dad ran nothing but CC's years ago and they were built to last. The new ones are pieces of junk that are built to sell and keep profit shares up. Time to abandon a 35+ year tradition and buy something that is still quality built. Never again.

Strengths Roomy enough for a tall guy, nice wide deck, low price, easy to drive, good looking, easy to clean the deck.

Weaknesses BELTS!!! The deck belt comes off EVERY time! I began engaging the PTO while the deck was in position #6 and that helped. I'd then drop it to #4 to mow. I am so sick of puting the belt back on. The transmission belt came off last week at the bottom of a big hill. I had to push it (with help) a long way. These mowers are HEAVY! It also mows very unevenly. I need to mow twice - once in each direction - so it looks ok.

Overall I traded this mower today for JD X300. I am just sick of having to put the belt back on. I'll never every purchase another CC.

Strengths I like the large gas fillspout.

Weaknesses Throw the belt 4-5 times every time I mow. I now leave the pulling housing off so that I can get to the belt quicker. Replaced the belt twice after they stretched so bad. Gasket has leaked oil since day one. Had it warranty serviced the first week. Still leaks oil and smokes.

Overall Would not reccomend! Next one will be a Toro!

Strengths Comfortable to operate.

Weaknesses Belt continually jumps off at blade start, even at idle speed. repaired 4 times now with 18 hrs on motor

Overall When you spend $1800.99 on equipment it should operate with out a hitch. I am suprised at how many of the mowers have the same problem.

Strengths Cheap compared to other brands at HD. Saleman swore this was a reliable mower since the Scotts I bought from them 6 years ago was an even bigger POS.

Weaknesses Drive belt broke within 20 minutes.

Overall POS!!! Stay away from JD,CC or any HD brands.

Strengths great turn radius lots of power for my hills very fast cruise control

Strengths I don't recall this 50" deck has ever thrown the belt off. I routinely engage the PTO at full throttle. Keep those fittings greased.

Weaknesses The brake pedal safety start switch started failing the first season. When I found the cause, I made a bracket to hold the switch in, and that was 2 years ago, no more problems. Too much hassle to take it back & leave it for the repair.

Overall Very good , except for that safety switch issue. I don't need that anyway.

Strengths Excellent engine, Cuts nice...Great tractor...and a wonderful price for a tractor with 2 hours on it. I purchased this at home depot.

Weaknesses NONE...You people that are having spring and belts breaking need to not engage the mower deck at full throttle. It causes strain on the belt and spring and causes it to snap. Always engage and disengage the mower deck in idle...

Overall I bought this tractor in June of 2007 from home depot. It was a tractor that someone else had purchased and brought back. About the third week my idler spring snapped and my belt went bad on top of it. I called my local cub dealer and he came out and put a new belt on for me. OK The problem everyone is having is this. When you engage the mower deck, make sure the tractor is idling. DO NOT engage the mower deck at full throttle. Also when your done mowing before turning the mower deck off idle it down for a few seconds then turn it off. That is what my technican told me and i havent had a problem since. and i have put 80 hours on it mowing since with no trouble. I have monitored the belt condition now and it still looks new. One more thing...Cub Cadet support has been totally excellent. They sent me out touch of paint with no charge, and took care of my belt problem. I would highly recommend this tractor to anyone....
