Strengths Good traction with my 220lbs over the wheels. Engine runs smooth. Love the fuel capacity and the amount of time I can cut before refueling.

Weaknesses The first four months I owned it was spent on my trailer going to and from the shop. Constantly throwing the deck belt. ZERO SUPPORT FROM COMPANY! The reverse mowing safety switch is a constant battle. Again ZERO SUPPORT FROM COMPANY! The carb float stuck open a leaked almost all the fuel from a full tank before I caught it. Again ZERO SUPPORT FROM COMPANY! I think the blades turn too slowly to get through the tough stuff. I see a lot of bahalia(sp) grass and this this struggles even with new blades. I just broke a spindal mount yesterday. Geezz what next?!

Overall I will never buy anything with the name Cub Cadet on it again! As a matter of fact I may never buy anything painted yellow again. Doesn't yellow mean caution anyway? I really thought I was upgrading. So disappointed.

Strengths Model 1050 - Kohler engine unsurpassed power & smooth, 50" deck nice for approx 2 acre mow, easy steer, grease fitting nice but need to keep frequently greased since unsealed. Deck wash nice but the couple minutes per side recommendation is not enough I now just pull the deck each mow (super easy, 2 spring pins), 87 hours and not a single belt break, oil leak, or any other problems others have mentioned. I pull trailer of gravel and fence posts and worked it hard and it hasn't failed me.

Weaknesses belt drive is not as smooth when going extremely slow w/hydrostat as direct would be. Pulled lawn roller filled w/water over 1 acre rototilled feild yesterday and transmission pan became pretty warm a few times and I let it rest a few times to cool even though there is a fan above to cool.

Overall Actually love the mower and wouldn't hesitate buying another. Engineering beats the heck out of the Craftsman I used to own which is not even a close comparison (both had Kohlers and hydrostat). I cut and radiused 1/4" from the pins to make it easier to pull for R&I of deck. Engine loud, well I imagine all 22 HP engines are and you should wear earmuffs or plugs anyway.

Strengths Starts easy, Turns sharply.

Weaknesses Deck belt slips off frequently. Spindle bearing has gone out once already. Kohler engine is weak.

Overall I wouldn't buy another one. Paid to much for this one, so I guess I'm stuck with it. Customer Support is sorry.

Strengths Cuts well when it works

Weaknesses Engine at 20 HP is still sluggish on hills. On its 2nd PTO and PTO is not working again. The belt on the Mower deck slips off easily.

Overall Very disappointed. Bought this Cub Cadet expecting better. It is in the shop for repair all the time. Trading it, if anyone will take it.

Strengths The Tractor has a 20 hp engine, 46" cut with 3 blades, Starts easy even in cold weather. Have used it to cut grass from 4" to 12", pushed snow and gravel and also have used it to pull loaded cart all with no problems. Easy to operate. Also the deck wash works great.

Weaknesses Headlights stay on all the time other than that the tractor has no weaknesses

Overall Overall tractor is a great buy for the price.

Strengths Power takeoff Nice seat Heavy gauge steel frame

Weaknesses Very poor 20 HP Kohler engine. Would not run, float stuck open, gas on garage floor. Dealer replaced filter, now won;t run even. Non-existent manufacturer support. Would not even answer e-mail.

Overall Extremely disappointed. Bought on "Cub" name as a trade up. I am going to have Lowes take it back after less than 12 hours running.
