Strengths It cuts grass fine when it runs.

Weaknesses I bought it about 4 years ago and it ran only 2 years. I changed the oil filter and it has not run since. I bought it at Lowes and they don't service it. When it was in warranty they had someone that I could have called but the mower was fine the first year.

Overall totally dissatisfied with service availability. One repair guy I called did not call me back for 2 weeks, he did apoligize. Another lady I talked to re: looking at it wanted to charge $100.00 without even knowing what is wrong with it. It is highwa;y robbery. I wish I had just invested in a good self propelled push mower.

Strengths Starting, ride, turn radius

Weaknesses I can't believe that a company can continue to sell this tractor with the belt problems. Mine had 22 hours when the drive belt came off. I wish I had read the reviews prior to buying this thing. Cub Cadet does not have any customer service either. I can't find a way to contact anybody other than the local "authorized repair centers".

Overall I will never buy another Cub Cadet.

Strengths comfortable seat, easy to rem ove deck

Weaknesses front wheels catch side engine covers ripping them from the mower when turning on uneven ground. Belts come off easily, slow reverse, poor uneven cut, The list goes on. Now it appears that the engine has seized without warning with proper oil maintenance.

Overall I hope I can get rid of this crap. I have several extra belts and oil filters to go with it.

Strengths This mower has none as far as I'm concerned!!!!!!

Weaknesses As far as I'm concerned this mower is a piece of crap!!! The 1st time I mowed a tire went flat & each & every time thereafter!!!! Also the drive shaft broke off & had to be rebuilt, 3 dam times & it cost me big bucks, Other parts also went on it & had to be replaced costing me more $$$$$$$$!!!! The dealer & cub cadet did not stand by thier machine, the dealer told me they were bad mowers when I went back to see what could be done! I no longer do business there!!!!!

Overall After only 2 summers of mowing I'm selling this piece of crap!!!!! I've since bought a John Deere Wow I couldn't get over how easy it is to get to everything & how simple it is set up!!! also the Co. stands behind thier mowers!!!

Strengths Good mower still have to mow twice to even out the cut piling but I'm mowing 5 acres with it and have 276 hours on it

Weaknesses belts belts belts, the only place to get them is tractor supply and they are expensive I did have trouble with the tractor throwing belts at first but I changed to a smaller idler pulley with a bigger rim shimmed the bracket with 2 washers and added a stronger spring this took care of the problem. As far as smoking at start up it is just carbon from the gas all kolher motors do it.

Overall would buy another one

Strengths Safety Ease of use. Reverse PTO option. Cup holder. head lights, comfortable.

Weaknesses Owner's manual: For blade removal, instructs to use a (single) 1 inch Socket wrench. It requires two 1 1/8 inch wrenches. Even with the blade blocked, The spindle turns freely before the blade nut is loosened. Four deck belts cut while travelling in reverse, below cutting height of 4. Trans mission belt broke at 87 hours

Overall

Strengths I like the overall placement of the pedals and controls. The engine is powerful and handles the 2 acres I have sometimes with tall grass on the back part. Some thought went into the design of the features like brake lock, cruise control, cup holder, gas tank filler, and easy removal of the deck. This is the right size tractor for my use.

Weaknesses The engine smokes a lot at startup. This started at about 14 hours of use. I have tried SAE 30 and added STP to no avail. Probably an oil drain problem in the valve cover. The engine can break the belt if the mower is engaged on a very cold day. I feel that the tractor's ground speed is slow in both forward and reverse compared to my White 16 HP. The muffler is loud. You need to mow twice to get a good smooth finish. Mulching works but takes several passes in leaves.

Overall I would rate this about 5 out of 10 for a tractor that is supposed to be the top of the line for this manufacturer. I am stuck with this machine until it is worn out, and would not have bought it if I knew what I know now.

Weaknesses KOHLER MOTOR SMOKES A LOT WHEN IT IS FIRST STARTED.IT SOUNDS LIKE A BEARING IN THE IDLER PULLEY IS GOING BAD. THERE IS ONLY 69 HRS. ON THIS MOWER

Strengths This LT1046 26hp is powerful and easy to use. I used to love it.

Weaknesses As you have probably heard from many people, there are plenty of problems with belts. My deck belt has come off several times. I have only had it a year. Now the drive belt came off. It doesn't look warn, but it is cut in many places for some reason. Unlike all the other mowers I've owned, the belt is not easy to get to to replace and now I hear I will have to pay $250.00 to repair the mower. I thought Cub Cadet was supposed to be a great mower. I'll be selling this one and getting a Sears brand like I've had for years.

Overall Stay away from this money trap! You can get just about as good a mower for much less. Sure you'll have to do more repair on a cheaper mower, but it will be easier to do yourself and it won't cost you the price of another mower just to replace a drive belt.
