Strengths We bought this mower in June 2006 and have not had any problems with it. We mow over 2 acres and do alot of other things with it. We have changed the blades one time. We love it and only sold it to get a larger mower. Great engine performance and deck looks like new. Whole mower looks new with 195 hours.

Weaknesses None that we have experienced.

Overall We loved the mower. No problems. We did buy it from a dealer who delivered it fully serviced and ready to mow.

Strengths When the belts are on cuts and runs fine. Bought my first 5 years ago worked fine then the engine blew. Have a 2 acre lot was pleased so like an IDIOT bought another last year! Big mistake.

Weaknesses Belt popper!!! This POS should be recalled. paid around $2100 from Home Depot who should be ashamed for selling them. I have bought three belts and counting. Too replace one is ridiculous. Home Depot doesn't carry the mower deck belts???? They should, because they could make a fortune which seems to be all they care about anyway. Maybe they will start selling used cars next!! I will never buy a Cub Cadet lable on anything!!!!!!

Strengths when it works (when) it does good, otherwise it is a POS

Weaknesses mower belt drive system was designed by a moron as was the blade spindles. I have 140 hours on it over three years and now I have added hose clamps around the top of the spindles hoping to add some meat and strenght where needed. So far have put three belts to the blades and one to the drive and replace two spindles. will have to sell blood if it breaks again at $52 a pop for the belts and $86 for the spindles.next I am going to add a bushing to the tension spring pivot before it throws another belt. luckily I can do most repairs my self as the warranty sucks big time

Overall thought I was buying a quality named product (who knew).had better luck with my 10year old huskee, going to rebuild to stop throwing money at the POS

Strengths VERY LITTLE................

Weaknesses NONE OR VERY LITTLE WARRANTY........... The Cub Cadet warranty people blame ALL broken or defective parts on the consumer. DO NOT BUY cub cadet from HOME DEPOT.

Overall VERY NICE LOOKING MACHINE........however no warranty and no service.

Weaknesses deck bearing fall apart constantly 113 hours replaced all three spindles once rebuilt them each once and had too replace another one yesterday.i grease them with good high temp grease but to no avail.run away from cub junk i have owned international tractors for 40 years,but cub has no quality anymore mtd sucks.next one will be john deere have three friends with deere and they have had no problems.

Strengths Love the Kohler engine for starting and power.

Weaknesses Quality is very poor and you can expect this mower to break constantly!

Overall We have had this for right at 5 years now. Year one we had to replace the deck belt twice and one blade spindle. Year two we replaced another deck spindle, both tie rod ends, one deck belt pulley and the hydro tranny started to "slip". Year three, the drive belt broke, another deck belt pulley, steering knuckle and the stator (generator) were replaced and then the hydro tranny quit altogether and had to use my neighbors mower for the season. Year four I removed the hydro tranny and replaced the oil in it for it to move at a slow walking pace. The last original deck spindle went out and the bushing on the steering shaft broke in two. Year five, (four weeks into it) the hydro tranny is still SLOW and now skips in reverse, just had another deck spindle burn up and another deck belt broke. This mower has cost us an additional $900 to date (avg almost $200 per year to use it??) and has convinced us to go John Deere when we can afford it! Nothing like the quality when Cub Cadet was from International Harvester!!!

Strengths Bright yellow color makes it easy to see while broke down in your yard so deer wont run into it.

Weaknesses Absolutly everything about it is weak. The most over priced peice of junk I have ever owned. Thought maybe I had the one bad one in the bunch...until I looked around on the computer and found 99% of people who own one has had nothing but problems with it.

Overall Should have spent the extra grand or so and bought a good mower. My only hope is someone who has alot of money will get a lawyer and end up making them have a recall on the LT1050 and other models like it. It is truely a crime the way these things were built. One thing is for sure...as many people who have been let down by Cub Cadet and the way they have built thier mowers and the way they have handled the complaints[or should I say lack of handling them] they wont be selling anything to anyone in the near future.

Strengths It mows nice and clean. Steers okay.

Weaknesses I have only 44 hours on it, and it broke a drive belt. Very frustrating to find out it takes a mechanic to replace it. ( I did all the maintenence on my Husky mower.)Replace the drive belt only to have the hydro fan break within a week. Warrenty stinks, cause they want you to pay for hauling if they determine belt broke due to a rock or a stick. I mean these people are working for Cub, why wouldnt they side with them.

Overall A peice of junk dressed in a cute package. I will never ever buy another one. Selling and taking my loss.

Strengths Looks good when you first buy it.

Weaknesses Where should I start...grass clumps undr and on top of deck...wont go up hills after 41 hours of use...motor smokes...paint peeling off on deck....could go on but if you own one you know there is aloot more.After reading all the peoples complaints you would think there would have been someone made them have a recall.

Overall Junk....100% junk. You need to put a 0 on your ranking scale,looks like alot would have picked...including myself.

Strengths It's Hanging in there! Luckily, the two-year warranty we paid extra for has paid for itself.

Weaknesses Belt constantly comes off!

Overall Don't expect this mower to hold together more than five years.
