Strengths I have about 10 hours on my LT1050 and it runs and cuts great. The 25hp V-twin Kohler is a fantastic engine.
Weaknesses I wish Cub Cadet offered all of the options similar John Deere tractors offered.
Overall Very pleased with the tractor and am glad I researched and spent a few more dollars to get a quality product. The Kohler engine is superior to many of the engines available on other lawn tractors. What ultimately sold me was the willingness of Cub Cadet to warrant their product for 3 years. Everything else I looked at was a 2 year warranty. TSC offers free pickup if I have a problem with the mower and contracts with a reputable repair shop to get the work done. I almost purchased a John Deere, but couldn't justify the additional cost for a similar mower with what is in my opinion, and the opinion of the JD salesperson I spoke with an inferior motor offered on a comparable John Deere.

Strengths Good Motor (DONT BUY THIS JUNK)
Weaknesses JUNK, from electrical to mechanical this thing just falls apart.. The belt comes off constantly and is not easy to replace. the Mowing deck is very flimsy. Lights burned out last season (2nd season) Oh yeah, the snow plow is junk too, the welds are weak and the warranty is useless.
Overall Look elsewheres.. Good Motor but the rest is just junk.

Strengths Good engine 26 H.P. Koler, Starts easy, and mows well with litty gas use. Mine is the 26 H.P. Koler V and it is quite large enough for all you need in a average yard.
Weaknesses Weakness is the small rear wheels, 15X6:00, with the 4 hole rims. It needs the 20 X 10.5 tires. I do not know why they did not stay with the standard 5-hole rims which is interchangable amoung most brands. I have a 265 J.D with 5 lug, 20 X10.5 which is almost standard amoung many brandas and it will run circles around the Cub. Also the Hyd on the Cub is not up to power, Chatters under load and not as strong as need.
Overall Fair mower for Avg lawn, not up to large farm use. Good motor, cut to many places to keep price low.

Implements : Tripple Bager, Cart
Purchased From : Local Dealer
Strengths This machine always starts right up, always cuts the grass, and pulls a cart full of soil or rocks with no problems. With right at 100 hours I have had no problems even after mowing on some pretty big hills, and almost flatening a blade on a "hidden" rock. I've even used it to cut some pretty rough stuff that was more like brush than grass (see hidden rock issue above) Replaced the blades and kept on going.
Weaknesses I purchased the bagger (on clearance at Lowes, they don't sell cub any longer)last year (2nd year of ownership). It was easy enough to install, and works ok at best. The fit of the intake at the deck leaves a gap at the end which blows out some dust and small clippings. If the grass is even slighly damp it clogs atleast once per load.
Overall I have had no trouble in operation or maintenace with this machine. From reading all of the reviews I think it has everything to do with how the dealer sets it up. When I purchased mine I didn't get to take it that day. The dealer insisted that he wouldn't let it out of the store without "setting it up" first. That consisted of adjusting all of the springs, belts, and pullies; changing out the "shipping oil"; and leveling the deck. I can see how people would have issues if those things weren't done. The only maintenance I have done since is change the oil and filters every season.

Strengths Runs smoothe and is a comfortable machine.
Weaknesses Smokes at start up. Throttle cable broke in second season and the grease fittings on the deck are hard to get to without removing deck. This tractor does consume a lot of gas.
Overall Pretty good machine. Was disappointed to learn MTD makes them though as I always thought International was the manufacturer.

Strengths Forth season coming up, oil grease filters only.
Can put a teenage kid on the tractor and not worry about saftey. Can't say that about my bigger (72HP) diesels. Cuts grass as fast as my 108" due to manuevering in small areas (< acre). EXTREMELY RELIABLE, powerful.
Weaknesses Drinks gasoline, but it costs +$120 to fill my big diesels, not any concern with the 27HP Kohler when I only need $10 in gas!
Overall Excellent! I'm looking to buy a snowblower? My current blower is 72"/72HP. Way to big/dangerous for young ones! Want the kid to clear the driveway. email me with your snowblow experiences on a 1050. Please don't respond if you hate Cub 1050's.

Strengths Starts and runs well everytime. Good power and cutting for what I need. It even handled my high/thick weeds on over and acre that I mowed down after a few freezes dried them up. Good traction, and goes up / down small hills easily. I love the reverse mowing feature. I'm loving it!
Weaknesses None so far.
Overall My first lawn tractor ever - and a great one for the price, with all its features.

Strengths Motor seems reliable
Weaknesses Throws the belt nearly every time I engage blades. A real pain to put back on pulleys. Broke one belt. Cuts unevenly. Very slow. At present the tractor will not move in either forward or reverse. I was just mulching leaves in yard and have no idea what the problem is. Will NEVER buy one of these things again.
