Strengths Kohler engine runs well and I love the hydrostat drive!

Weaknesses With less than 10 hours of 10 hours of use, the PTO quit working. First it was intermittant then quit altogether. I sent an email to Cub Cadet Support on internet and received no help what soever, in fact they were curt and the links they gave me refused access! I called the local dealer in Olathe, Kansas and they did tell me that the factory did not provide for a good connection at the PTO! I checked the connector (which appeared to be connected) and found one of the terminals were not making connection inside the connector housing - pretty poor workmanship if you ask me! Overall Including the very irratating problems described above, I would rate performance, mechanical, structural and ease of cleaning only fair!

Strengths 50" deck, comes with mulch plug, hydrostatic transmission, build quality, WARRANTY!!!

Overall I had purchased a Troybilt GTX2446 last year (04/04) from Lowe's....nothing but problems with belts, tires holding air, and I could go on and on. Very disappointed. I called Lowe's and they told me to bring it back. I was having a hard time deciding between a Husqvarna and the Cub 1050. I went with the Cub and felt I made the right choice. No comparison versus the Troybilt, which I found odd. I made sure they carried the needed maintenance parts, which they didnt for the "toybilt". The only problem is Cub uses the "Quick Attach" and all the others are "Fast Attach" so my 42" Blade is not compatible...and I only got to use it once. Guess it's another item for the Garage Sale. Needless to say I'm happy and it didnt cost me a dime...even got the 200.00 price difference refunded!
