Strengths THE TRACTOR MOWED WELL AND NEVER GAVE ME ANY PROBLEMS OTHER THAN ENGINE PROBLEMS.

Weaknesses MUFFLER BROKE OFF WHILE MOWING, APON INVESTIGATION...FOUND THAT THEY USED THE VALVE COVER TAB AS A MUFFLER MOUNTING POINT. BAD IDEA!! I HAD MY LOCAL MUFFLER DEALER REWELD THE MUFFLER AND MAD A MOUNTING BRACKET THAT FASTENED IT TO THE FRAME INSTEAD OF THE VALVE COVER. ALSO, AFTER APPROX. 40 HOURS OF USE, THE ENGINE DEVELOPED AN OIL LEAK. I LOOKED AND LOOKED AND COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. I TOOK OFF THE FAN HOUSING AND DISCOVERED 4 OF THE TOP CASE BOLTS SPINNING AND THE VACUME FROM THE FAN WAS SUCKING OIL OUT OF THE ENGINE. I RETOURQUED THE CASE BOLTS AND HAVNT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE. ALSO, THE HYDROSTAT IS TOO WEAK TO PULL AN AERATOR VERY WELL.

Overall IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR JUST A MOWER, THIS ONE WORKS WELL. FORGET ABOUT A SNOWBLOWER, AERATOR, OR AM HEAVY LOADED LAWN CART

Overall I bought this lawn tractor from home depot last week. I had it delivered. The tractor arrived on Wednesday. I had to wait until Friday to get a break in the weather to try it out. I was told that this tractor has a "floating deck" so it is supposed to move with the contour of the ground and not scalp your lawn. Within one minute of having the blades on, the deck found a slight bump and tore into the lawn. The blades then shut off. I pulled the tractor into my garage and lowered the deck. The middle pully was completely destroyed. I took the tractor to the little shop that Home Depot said would do warranty work on it. The owner of the shop told me to take it back to home depot and demand a new one, as this particular tractor either came from the factory with some serious issues, or it was damaged during delivery. I returned it to home depot and they were happy to give me a new one. I just got the new tractor home and have not had a chance to get to the lawn, due to crappy weather. I WISH I HAD READ THE REVIEWS ON THIS TRACTOR BEFORE I BOUGHT IT!

Strengths Looks good, good engine & transmission

Weaknesses Can't cut grass with it.. Idler pulley has been bent and replaced half a dozen times, blade belt has also been replaced 6 times, have less than 40 hours on it. Even replaced the deck due to the idler pulley mount being so badly bent that the pulley would not bolt back on properly. Got the new deck - $400, pulley - $35, and belt - $20. Cut grass twice, went the 3rd time engaged the blade and Wham belt jumped, idler pulley is destroyed yet again. DO NOT BUY, total piece of crap as far as mowing goes, great little tractor if all you want to do is ride around the yard.

Overall Would not recommend, at least no until Cub Cadet addresses the problems with the mowing deck pulley system and belt.

Strengths Large gas tank, good motor, big deck. Cuts my lawn fast.

Weaknesses They tended to tow the front wheels in a bit too far. When they done this, it cuts grass out abit. It's an easy fix, just unscrew the outside steering arm 2 turns. This is how they advertise a 12" turning radius and everyone els has a 16". Than instead of 12" turning radius, you have 16" turning radius, but no grass tore up.

Overall I only have 5 hours on my mower, but I love it so far. No problams, and it runs great. I read out the backfire, mine does a little, but so does my Brigg and Stratton, it's not bad. This weekend, I'm taking it to a big hairy mess, about 4 acres of it. I'll let you know how it does.

Strengths good ride because of the larger tires i think , great stability on hills , doesn't act like it would ever turn over with you . comfortable seating , steers easily .

Weaknesses problems with the plastic hood , cub needs to do better than this . the bolts evidently vibrated out , and caused a weakness in the plastic housing and it broke off, dealer says this is a 1st for him , CUB WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT !!!!! even after the dealer saw it , and i emailed pictures, new hood costs $ 129.00 , with me doing the installation .i'm not giving that much money for something that is a BAD DESIGN ON CUBS PART, this is just not right , BEWARE !!!!!!! i ended up drilling 2 holes through to the outside and putting 2 bolts and lockwashers to hold it to the frame.

Overall it is a good mower overall , cub just needs to give better customer service , and a better warranty on parts , especially something that is clearly their bad design . they just don't want to admit it. it would be better to keep a good customer for a long time than to just blow it off like it was nothing to them.

Overall I like mine. i bought it used and it works great. the drive transmission belt is cracking though. thats to be expected. i started to cut on the #1 and#2 mower deck setting and the belt came off.to fix this i adjusted the angle of the deck. i raised the front of the deck where the angle of the belt coming off the motor was more straight. problem solved!! still cuts great!

Strengths Strong running engine

Weaknesses Ring gear cracked over the winter. Cost for a new flywheel from Cub Cadet is $170.00. However, if you do not know how to replace yourself you can add about another $150.00 for labor. Tractor is only 2 years old and hardly used.

Weaknesses DO NOT BUY THIS TRACTOR, IF YOU NOTICE THE FRONT WHEELS THEY ARE ANGLED INWARD (CAMBERED) BECAUSE OF THIS THE FRONT TIRES OUTER EDGE WILL CUT INTO THE LAWN ON TURNS. THE TIGHTER THE TURN THE WORSE THE DAMAGE TO THE LAWN. THE WHEELS OUTER EDGE WILL ACTUALLY REMOVE THE TURF ON TURNS. THE TURF REMOVED IS ABOUT 6" WIDE X THE WHOLE LENGTH OF THE TURN. Overall DUE TO THE DAMAGE THE TRACTOR DOES TO THE LAWN IT IS THERE FOR NOT WORTH BUYING.

Strengths Good looks, and appears to be a good value until you start to use it. It did a good job cutting the grass until it failed.

Weaknesses I really feel stupid, after reading all of the reviews from other Cub Cadet tractors owners complaining about belts coming off, I went out a bought one anyway, thinking that they had to fix the belt problem by now, but after cutting for about 15 min, the belt came off of the mower deck,it was shredded.

Overall Home depot was great, I returned the tractor and they gave me a full refund, no questions asked.
