Strengths Very powerful and reliable kawasaki motor. Haven't had any problems yet with the transmissions (yet!).
Weaknesses To bad cub cadet couldn't match the power and strength of the kawasaki. The deck leaves uncut strips of grass with sharp blades. The ride quality is HORRIBLE. A pain to do service work on.
Overall Not satisfied. My next mower is going to have a kawasaki engine, but no way am I going to get another cub cadet.

Strengths I have the Kawasaki Twin motor and it bulls through the tallest stands of grass. This motor was probably the biggest selling point for me. It is also user friendly relative to the hydrostat controls. The speeds it will cut have lessened my overall time by 40%.
Weaknesses The deck leaves something to be desired relative to structural integrity. It strikes me as very thin but is holding up OK so far. At some of the spindle locations, there is daylight allowing grass clippings to blow right up through the deck where it nests there. I can't figure the logic there. Blades too thin.
Overall Overall, I'm very pleased with the mower

Strengths Runs through anything in my flat yard, wet or not. 25% faster to mow than with regular lawn tractor. Kawasaki engine runs like a top.
Weaknesses Engine runs a little hot. Will spin wheels on wet grass and hard zero-turn. Some grass sticks to deck, but nowhere near as bad as with Crapsman.
Overall Have had this mower one summer and it is a pleasure to use compared to my old Craftsman lawn tractor. Far fewer parts to worry about. After one summer of use, very happy for the price paid.

Strengths Zero turn
Weaknesses Mower deck is pure crap...Have owned mower 2 yrs and replaced spindles 4 times...2 acre yard. My 1965 model cub cadet mower deck was rebuilt three times in 30 years, at less than 1/2 the expense. also takes 4x the fuel and gets stuck on every wet spot in yard. Oil leak started on oil drain, poor quality design...fixed with ball valve and pipe nipple...s/b what factory did to begin with. Grass clogs under deck, removed metal obstruction from deck to fix. Had to put tubes in front tires to make them hold ait from day one. Leaves rows of grass between brand new Cub blades???
Overall F=; Shoulda bought something not made by MTD, as I have junked three of them after a year or so.

Strengths None - not even good when new -
I baught this waste of money a year ago. In the first month the belt tenchiner spring broke and the deck lift broke. I took i to dealer, and they kept my new machine in the shop for over a month in JUNE! for a spring. Now at 150 hour smy transmision is going,
Weaknesses The whole unit is junk - dont waist money,
Overall I am very angry, Cubcadet products do not last over 50 80 0 hours without repair. And to top it off dealer was charging me for warrenty repairs, stay away !!!

Strengths Inexpensive. Kohler engine runs great. Cuts OK.
Weaknesses After 4 years & 250 hrs of use, the left hydro transmission stopped working. Dealer says that the right one also needs replacement. Estimate cost is just under $2000!
Overall Transmission should not waer out after 250 hrs.
Would never buy a cub cadet again.
Search the web for "cub cadet transmission problem" & you'll see that this is a common problem.

Strengths Strong engine, good cut, simple maintenance, parts are easy to find, greasable deck spindles,
Weaknesses Front tires suck cause they bleed air off and when they get low they come off the bead. The blades could be thicker and they tend to wear quickly. I couldn't stand it when you went backwards and the machine disengages the blades so I removed that feature, fairly noisy hydro pumps.
Overall I love this machine overall. Can't beat the price versus commercial mowers of this size. Some areas are a little on the cheap side such as the blades but it beats a $6000 commercial mower any day if you ask me. You can get two of these for one of those and when one goes down, you could use the other one! I cut about two bumpy acres with it every week and it takes me about two hours. Great value mower overall.

Strengths Its A Great Mower I Own A Lawn Care Bussiness And This Mower Works Out Great.

Strengths I have the Briggs and Stratton engine on mine and thusfar has ran flawless. It cuts very level and is easy to adjust the deck height. Oil changing is simple with the supplied hose. Being a Briggs motor tune-up parts are readily available at Walmart.
Weaknesses I agree with others front tires are on the weak side and puncture easily..would like to see a true zero turn type tire on the rear (current tires tend to slide around if the grass is wet). Would like to have armrests on the seat (like higher end zero turn mowers) but still comfortable as is.
Overall This has been a GREAT mower so far...have owned for 3 yrs and now has well over 200hrs. I have not had to make any unexpected repairs beyond normal wear items (belts) which were very easy to change and pretty reasonable at Tractor Supply Company. I would highly recommend this mower to anyone as it has drastically cut my mowing time (currently mow over 5 acres) with numerous trees etc.
