Weaknesses Deck is cheap, replacing electric clutch third time in 390 hours, deck rollers very cheap. Nothing but a cheap MTD

Overall Very cheap quality, Nothing like cub cadets of the past.

Strengths Reason for buying it was suppose to be the Cub Cadet name, but they have failed in that department. All they are is a dressed up MTD.

Weaknesses Quality of the equipment. I bought this 2006 unit off the original owner with only 50hrs. My third cut, the right rear axle snapped in half. After 3 weeks of bitching to my loacl deal, Cadet said they will buy the ($39.00) axle and I have to pay $680 in labor. 10hrs! absolutely rediculas. I will never own another one of these products again. Terrible service, terrible machine

Overall Had a Kubota for 14yrs and never replaced a thing. You get what you pay for!

Strengths Good power, nice width on mower deck with 54" cut.

Weaknesses Electronic clutch went out. OEM CLutch is $359, I am buying an after market clutch for $170. I have own it 2 summers, this will be the third (195 hours). I have a large 3.5 acre lot so I mow a lot. I wanted to go with a shaft drive but I was assured with the CC the belt driven hydro would hold up. I have been through 3 belts on the moer deck.

Overall I have owned 3 Cub Cadets in the last 10 years. I have had nothing but problems with the last 2. My family has always own Cub Cadets. This one will be my last

Overall 115 hrs of use in two years, 5 acre block to cut, only one deck belt replaced and 4 sets of blades, one flat tyre.starts first time cannot fault machine.

Weaknesses Paid over $4100.00 for this mower, It been in the repair shop most of the time I own it. I only have 10 hours on mower.

Overall I made a big mistake buying this cub cadet Z force 50 mower.

Weaknesses My mower is working on 3 summers 76hrs bought at Lowe's has been in the shop two times. Replaced Fuel pump last summer.This time it needs a new starter. Has been in shop 3 wks so far. I have taken very good care of this mower. Is there a lemon law with mowers?

Overall I had a Cub Cadet Mower 10yrs bought at a Mower shop. Loved it,never had any trouble. Ex husband took it in our divorce gave me the push mower. Bought this new mower.... Would never buy another. Someone said mowers from Lowe's were 2nd Quality?????? I don't know. (VERY,VERY UNHAPPY)Sure glad I bought extended warrenty.

Strengths This is a good tractor. I bought this one from a terrible dealer who loves Kubota after doing as much research as I could in a hurry. I mows wonderfully and I've had no real issues with it. It's only got 12 hours, but has performed flawlessly.

Weaknesses It does smoke upon start-up so that makes me nervous. The hydro pedal could be a bit larger, especially the rear leg of the pedal. Also, when engaging the pto for the deck, it almost kills the engine.

Overall I am a long time cub fan, having restored two 1250's that both run like a champ. I expect this tractor to do the same. The bad thing, it that you have to step up to the top of the line cub's to get the real thing in most cases. Again, the local dealer sucks. I called him after the first season about getting a bagger and he said he would check into and never called me back. Thank god Home Depot is open past 12 noon on Saturday. They work on our time, not theirs. Hopefully, I do not have to deal with them again.

Strengths Wide Swath, comfortable to ride, moderate fuel usage, responsive to controls.

Weaknesses On initial blade engagement engine is slowed nearly to stopping. On last use it stopped the engine and now the starter engages and the engine spins as if the spark plugs are out of the cylinders. Mower is just over two years old, has Kohler 26 hp engine and is now in the shop for the next month. I fear the worst, push rods, cam assembly etc., crashed...... Sad for a piece of equipment that sells for such a high price. Wonder if Honda or Kawasaki makes an engine that will sit/mount on the cub cadet slt 1554?

Overall I Loved the mower, until this problem. I suspicion serious money to have it repaired. All grease zerks, oil changes, etc., have been performed like clockwork. I can see why, after just over two years and this record of performance, why the American consumer is selecting Honda and Kawasaki...

Strengths 27hp Kholer engine,easy mounting,cuts a large swath of grass,hour meter,easy to handle and comfortable, not a bad mower for the money.

Weaknesses Accelerator pedal could have better design. Deck comes off easy enough but difficult to get out from under tractor. PTO quit working this week, mower out of warrenty of course. Customer service is useless. Figured out that the reverse safety switch was the culprit so I disconnected it at the dash (where you push the button and the little red light comes on) and it works fine. Maybe it's just me but this feature makes no sense at all. Inner rear baffle came loose from deck and the blades finished it off. Had to buy a new one @ $35.00... new blades too. Front bumper fell off and I ran over that before I knew what happened; the little spot welds holding bumper to mounts came loose. They should send their welders to a welding class. Welded it back together myself; what was left of it. Had to buy new blades.

Overall My wife loves it. Me; uhh, it's okay. It's a nice big riding mower but don't confuse it (as I did) with the heavy duty garden types. It ain't all that.

Overall good buy for this machine, mows grass very evenly to be a three blade 54 inch cut, also sits very comfortable with the arm rest.
