Strengths NONE - looks goood maybe

Weaknesses EVERY SINGLE compenent on the tractor is GARBAGE - 106 hours on a 2900 tractor and I have to toss it - The dash panel is 1/8 inch thick plastic - the steering shaft goes thrugh the dash panel with no bushing - no gromet - nothing - Metal on plastic - worde the hole oblong and now the steering gear strips in a couple of months.

Overall Piss poor design - a total piece of garbage with no parts availability. Three grand wasted - CUB CADET should re -badge their tractors MTD - their other line - TOTAL JUNK - my 900 hours John Deere is still going strong. CUB CADET IS PATHETIC

Strengths kaw engine starts 1 pull every time, cuts & cleans well,engine does not pull down even in tall grass

Weaknesses only 1 rear wheel adjuster broke ,thin metal

Overall had mower 4 yrs never had to do anything but change oil, never did replace rear wheel adjuster. made my own,but after 4 yrs the blade adapter broke, didnt even know it still cut fine. i found it broken when i was doing routine maint, found the part in 1 phone call.............but overall i have never been a cub cadet fan but i will say this has been 1 HELL OF A GOOD PUSHMOWER FOR ME. and i have put it through the test

Strengths Engine runs OK when it runs.

Weaknesses Everything breaks....it seems to be all plastic jink....cables, brakets, safety features such as the engine brake/cut off.....self propell mechanism....height adjustmenbt....all broken...and the blade fell off while cutting. Can't find diagrams or parts.

Overall I'll never buy another Cub of any model.

Strengths Well, the engine has not blown yet...

Weaknesses Where do I start? In the three years I have owned this junker I have bought 7 blade adapters, one lasted just one mowing and one failed while starting the mower, throwing the blade off, missing my shin by 6 inches. I have also replaced the height adjustment level 2 times because it is made of pot metal. I have had terrible trouble with the right front wheel falling off because the bolt strips when you pull the mower backwards. The self propelled fature works, but runs very slowly.

Overall This mower is a P.O.S.

Strengths strong motor will not stall no matter what. Good traction

Weaknesses Every small part / handle / cable will break. Can't find parts. Bagger clogs easily. Baffle folds and gets cut by blade. Front wheels very difficult to adjust. Ran over a stump and broke the shaft. What happened to key that was supposed to break instead?

Overall Never buy a Cub Cadet. Unless you like its paint job. Cannot find parts anywhere. I'm replacing the motor with a Briggs

Strengths Kawasaki engine

Weaknesses tranny is garbage, broke after 2 yrs, 4 months. Too expensive to fix so I'll buy new mower but not a cub. No traction either. My CC dealer went out of business, what's that tell ya. CC, you let me down.

Overall expensive junk

Strengths Kawasaki 6.75 hp motor has worked good, takes about three or four pulls eveytime, but always starts and runs well.

Weaknesses Where to start. Height adjustment with caters is not easy. Rear adjument lever has broken twice in two years. Self propelled part is the worst, it won't pull itself up a small hill and this is a heavy lawnmower. Bagging system always clogs up with the bag only partially full. It is not easy to empty the bag either(poor design). I thought paying top end for a walk behind would assure me a good mower, well this CUB CADET SRC 621 isn't it. I used to have old snapper walk behinds and we never had this kind of trouble.

Overall

Strengths Swivel caster wheels makes cutting around things easier, but that is the only good thing about this mower. Seemed to cut okay until it fell apart after two years of use. Parts are easy to find because this mower breaks so much.

Weaknesses Bagger is hard to remove, empty, and reinstall, self propelled drive system is weak, plastic parts are of poor quality (i.e. the screws going into the plastic parts easily strip out and plastic nuts come loose and fall off). The Kawasaki engine is of poor quality. On mine the end of the crank shaft broke off where the blade attached to the crank WITHOUT hitting anything. On visual inspection pin holes were found in the crank casting (insufficient casting = weak). I was going to repair the mower but it costs more for a new crank + bearing and gaskets than it is worth. Anyone need a mower for parts???

Overall Don't even consider buying this mower. Lowes is now selling, what appears to be, this exact same mower under the John Deere name with a different engine (8/07). Don't waste your money on that piece of junk either. Go to Walmart and buy a cheap chinese mower instead, so when it breaks you won't feel so bad that you only spent a $150 instead of $400 when you throw it away.

Strengths Our yard is full of ups and downs, holes, uneven terrain etc. Basically this mower works great for us. When adjusted to the proper height, I have no problems with it. 6.5 HP Kawasaki engine is strong. Cuts thru the tallest grass with no bogging. Very happy with it

Weaknesses Blade & Blade Adapter, Baffle shield. Baffle shield tends to fold up causing blade to cut away at the rear edge (Engineering Fault). Blade hit a hidden stump, bent & broke the blade adapter. Blade adapter is hard to get, though blade is readily available. Also Plastic drive Wheels do not get any traction

Weaknesses difficult to empty grass catcher. self propell drive only works on the driveway. dealer says it works fine

Overall Cub Cadet was I thought a very good and dependable product name. You could not pay me enough to ever get anything else from cub cadet. Worlds worst lawn mower
