Strengths Nice looking lawnmower...thought I could depend on a good name brand. It has been nothing but a headache--broke 3 belts first summer...starter decided to stop working...then when I pull the button to engage the mowing deck...nothing...what a piece of junk!!!!!

Weaknesses This is a model 13ax11ch712 46" cub cadet...lowes item #183636...it needs to be recalled...the only thing good about this mower is the paintjob..I will never buy cub cadet again...

Overall

Strengths Its pretty and I thought the layout was great. Bag is easy to empty and its easy to convert to mulching.

Weaknesses It was cold blooded when I bought it and now after mowing less than 1 acre of grass in its qhole life, it will not start. It appears the rings have folded. The motor is shot. This is kind of like buying a new car and the motor goes before the nubbies on the new tires wear off! Yup new car smell but nothing to drive! Pretty bad..

Overall Pass on this or any mower from them.

Strengths Thought engine was a strength but head gasket blew after after lttle use. I say little use because rest of mower will not stay together long enough to be used

Weaknesses Worsed lawnmower I have ever owned Took first one back to Lowes after many problems have had just as many with replacement I have spent over 600.00 in last 2 years replacing almost everything that moves on this sorry mower. Friend of mine purchased one shortly after me and has had no better luck

Overall Do not purchase this lawnmower unless you enjoy many trips to the repair shop

Strengths 6.5HP Kawasaki engine...very strong, very efficient, very durable. A strong plus for this machine. I am also impressed with this unit's 6-speed transmission...more than you'll ever need. Extremely fast. Auto stop feature when hitting rocks/branches works well. The caster wheels make for easy & quick turns.

Weaknesses Man where do I start? I am generallly very disappointed with this unit for one reason...the build quality is very poor. I have only owned my unit for 30-days (by the way, it is going to be returned this weekend) and have already replaced neasrly every bolt on the unit. I shutter to think after hitting a bump what will fall off next. The bolts are poor (some alloy) quality & easily snapunder load or fall out. I replaced as much as I could with grade-5 SS & loctite. Today, the bolt that holds the blade on snapped off. Leaving half in the drive shaft...that was the last straw. By the way, good luck trying to get parts. Cub Cadt doesn't sell direct so be prepared to have to find a shop

Overall I hoped for so much more from Cub Cadet...but just can't get past how poorly built this unit is. Aside from a strong & reliable Kawasaki engine, I would not recommend this unit. I've replaced too many parts for a unit that's only 30 days old. This is not what I would have expected from Cub Cadet. I will replace with either a Snapper or John Deere mulcher with casters. Do yourself a favor & pass on this unit.
