Weaknesses Rear tires too small and loose traction, replaced drive belt several times left drive assy is going out at a cost of 800.00 dollars, does not cut even, have adjusted deck several times and it leaves a row of grass in middle, sharpened blades no help. I am very upste with this machine will never own another Cub product.
I have a 108 tractor for yrears and no problems, guess quality has gone from Cub.
Overall Would not recomend it to any one will try to trade it to almost anything

Strengths Cut great for the first year.
Weaknesses Small rear tires, Hydro Drive went out, pto quits at regular intervals, Lost count of the belts I've replaced. Blades last the shortest amount of time I've ever seen. Weld has broken on the deck. Spindles have locked up. ect...
Overall FIRST AND LAST CUB, EVER!! I cant believe I always wanted a Cub machine.

Strengths This baby is quick! Kohler Command V-Twin 23 seems to be a great engine. I purchased the Contractor Z-Force, Mechanically holding up well.
Weaknesses Very poor engineering on control arms. Have replaced Control cylinders (Under Seat) twice. Terrible ride, back so sore after mowing 9 acres, I cant walk upright for two days. Have used for two years, This baby is going down the road. Beware of pre 2010 models on hills and uneven ground, Oh yea, watch it along sloping ponds! Not pretty
Overall This thing was a huge disappointment. It is very fast and i guess for flat ground would be just fine. As mentioned throughout all other reviews, this baby will tear up the yard, and on sloping hills send you for a ride, especially if on wet turf. In two seasons, It has spent maybe 2.5 months at the shop to replace plastic cylinders for the control arms. Again, I think in the right application this thing could be a real winner, especially if you get the beefed up contractor model, with fabricated deck and Kohler V-Twin 23 Command engine.

Strengths Kohler engine has performed very well and economically.
Weaknesses Stamped deck is a piece of crap. Used 2 1/2 seasons and have had to repair several times. Hanger bracket broke this past week and the metal was so thin I had problems welding it back on. The welds all broke on the scalloped blade guard and got tangled in the blades while mowing and it was a real pain to mold back into the original shape (or as close as I could get it) and weld it back on.
I agree with many of the other reviews that the rear tires are too small and I have to turn very slowly in order not to tear my yard up.
Overall I have had Cub Cadet's for over 30 years and have had realitively good luck; however, I am very disappointed with this machine and will be replacing it ASAP. With my schedule I do not have time to repair this machine as much as is required. The dealer I purchased the mower from rarely has the parts needed to repair and I wind up driving 20-30 extra miles to a dealer that stocks the parts.
I could not recommend to anyone that they purchase a Cub Cadet Z Force.

Strengths Flat, even cut. Easy to maintain. Strong frame. Efficient 20 hrs Kohler. Comfortable ride.
Weaknesses Rear tires are too small to do the job right. Replaced turfs with wider aggresive knobbys, but have to be carefull not to let wheels slip as will tear ground now. Deck should be thicker for machine this price. No towing bracket for yard trailer.
Overall I've had good luck with this machine. Cut 1/2 acre mostly sloping in 45 mins. No problems with engine, belts, hydro system, or cutting. For the money I think it is a decent machine. You could spend two or three times as much for Scags, Chopper, Bush Hog, or Exmark to get profesional machine, but why for residential yard. Previous mower was Cub model 108 that has been cutting familys grass for 37 years, and still being used.

Strengths Machine has good driving power and that's it.
Weaknesses Engine crapped out after one season. Drive belt and blade belts had to be replaced multiple times. Cutting deck is a piece of SHIT as the pulleys have siezed several times and I had to weld some steel on the front that fell off.
Overall Will never purchase a Cub Cadet again....can't believe I got such a pile of shit for the price I paid.

Strengths No problems with deck or motor. Used it to cut a field that was a foot high
Weaknesses back tires are to small. Looses traction and digs up the grass. Deck gauage wheels scalp the ground on hills and swales.
Overall Would be a better machine if back tires were larger. Disappointed considering the price i paid for this machine.

Strengths Good cut even at fast speeds. Great Kohler Command 20hp engine. Fairly comfortable and easy to operate with minumum practice.
Weaknesses Deck not very high quality. Have had to replace belt twice now and some rattles. Had Murray mower over ten years and have never had belt come off. Have used it for 2 seasons, beginning the 3rd now. Not really impressed with the deck problems for the high price paid.
Overall I'm fairly satisfied with the mower, it does a good mowing job and pretty easy to work on, luckily I'm a mechanic, so it's not that big of a deal to me to keep fixing it, just thought I was buying a quality machine for the high price paid.
