Strengths This tractor is small and can be used in very tight places. It turns around easily with or without implements installed. Implements are also installed with very little effort due to the fact that you can physically push the tractor with one person to perfectly align all the points. It is tough even considering that it is almost 30 years old. We can pull large loads of wood, in four-wheel drive up our steep vineyard rows with minimal slippage. The differential lock is especially handy for pulling large loads of brush, clippings, and wood up steep grades. It appears to be well made due to the fact that the previous owner did not maintain the tractor to say the least. There was no oil in the front gear reduction drives or transmission. The oil looked as though it had not been changed in 3 years and the center link mount of the three point had 2 bold sheared off the top. I would have to say that most tractors would not have taken this type of abuse lightly. Also, the previous owner rolled the tractor over on its side damaging the fenders, hood and exhaust system. This roll over did little damage to the appearance of the machine.

Weaknesses The weaknesses of this tractor are few. The biggest item is that it is underpowered for tilling. It is almost 30 years old and was poorly maintained which could be contributing to its lack of power. When I am tilling with our Howard Rotovator it struggles to keep the RPMs up high enough to till. Some parts of own vineyard must be tilled in neutral, implement only, in order to go slow enough. The tractor goes to fast in the low range to do a good tilling job. I usually have to go over the area at least twice. The seat is a bit uncomfortable but then again I am using it for hours and hours upon end. The are no springs in the seat, only two little rubber bumpers. Also, be very careful with this tractor as you can roll it over easily drive slow and brake early. Part are very uncommon for this tractor nowadays, although I believe that you can still acquire them through some means.

Overall I would say that if you had a small hilly setting this would work great for pulling mid-sized loads up hill. Low maintenance and great reliability make it life-long friend. Tilling should be done when very dry spells occurs otherwise you will be fighting. I suggest discing prior to tilling.
