Price Paid : $1,800.00
Years of Use : New Owner (0-1 Year)
Implements : 62 MMM, Fel 62c
Purchased From : Conrady Western, Winfield, KS
Strengths Does good when it works
Weaknesses Belly mower catches the brake linkage in a turn
Front loader leaks, but fixed with a METRIC wrench...thought JD was american.........
The ROPS will get ya hurt during normal mowing around trees. Kinda thought it wouid and all I found out is I was right. WAny one hurt by this "safety feature" who wants to sue JD, let me know. I"ll testify cause it has hurt me every time I have mowed with it.
Saw somone posted a problem with the throttle not staying put.....well guess what..mine now does that too. can't mow or use it until it hits the shop and frankly, I'm not gonna fix it.
I'm sick of taking this back to JD to fix stuff that should have been fixed already. Though the local dealer has been good about it....it still sucks to pay that much for a machine that is in constant need of mending. Bet the danged thing was made in china.
Overall It seems to do the job when it works, problem is it doesn't work all that often.
Why I don't rate it very high.......wonder if they will buy it back from me? Shame on JD for putting this on the market with all the known problems

Implements : 62" mid mount mower - Front end loader
Purchased From : Dealer
Strengths Just purchased used 06 model. End loader is great and goes well with what seems to be a tough little tractor. It also included the Imatch hitch.
Weaknesses With the seat pushed back into one of the last two positions it bottoms out on the seat belt guide wires as it bottoms out. There is not enough clearance causing seat to bottom out and also scratches the daylights out of the bottom of the seat making for unsightly rust spot and your "bottom" really hits hard on bumps.
The MM mower lift bracket that raises the deck as the left lift arm of the three point system makes contact misses the bracket and the arm ends up on top of the bracket. What a pain. I am hoping for an answer from John Deere SOON.
What in the world were they thinking about with the ROPS not being two piece.
Also NO tool box or 12v supply for electric attachments.
Another design flaw: The PTO selector is way too long. If you are a shorts wearer it catches under the left leg as you are getting off. This could cause a painful dismount let alone ripped pants.
Overall Hopefully the faults can and will be taken care of by the company. Otherwise it's is a very strong unit.

Years of Use : New Owner (0-1 Year)
Implements : 200CX FEL, 62C MMM, & BALLAST BOX
Purchased From : JD DEALER IN DES MOINES,IA
Strengths Have had it for 6 weeks and love it. Great turning radis, lots of power, and comfortable operators platform. Have R4 tires and no problem with tearing the grass. Have only used the FEL a couple of times but it is great !!
Weaknesses 1: Would be nice to have a folding ROPS
2: No tool box, but I have found a way to mount one without drilling any holes in the fender, etc; If anyone is interested, e-mail me and I will send pictures.
3: No 12V outlet, but I am going to install one. Installed one on my JD 445 for my Fimco sprayer and Thompson spreader which both have 12V motors.
Overall I had a JD 445 for 12 years and put 2400 hours on it. It was a great machine, but the 2305 is HEAVEn, so far.

Price Paid : $13,900.00
Years of Use : New Owner (0-1 Year)
Implements : 62C MMM / 54" Dozer Blade
Purchased From : Lindsey Lawn & Garden
Strengths Powerful. Good mowing and plowing. Great fuel economy. Easy implement attach/detach. Easier forward reverse than the Kubota heel-toe pedals. Quiet smooth diesel engine.
Weaknesses Front grill clogs with grass debris as does the radiator pre-screen when mowing. Did overheat and light up the warning light. Light is hard to see.
Also, you can set the mower height via a knob in the floorpan but the mower will never be the same height. Varies by 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Manual says it will adjust from 1" to 5". Mine is 2 1/4" just below HI and 3" right before the Locked position. Adjusting the drop links won't correct it.
Have the turf tires. Have patched the left rear twice and right front once. These are 4-ply tires and were punctured by pieces of green wood brush smaller than a toothpick.
54" blade needs to have "pie tin" skids. JD skids only tear up a gravel driveway so I plow with them up and feather the blade off the surface.
After mowing on an 82 degree day, pulled into the garage and transmission oil was dripping on the floor. Did not come out of the overflow pipe. Wiped the tranny down. Hydraulic fluid was 3/4 in the window. 2 months later, after changing the tranny filter and fluid, mowed again on a 80 degree day and had a pint of fluid on the floor again. No obvious seal or gasket leak. Called dealer and said I can't trust this tractor anymore. Will see tomorrow how well he stands behind his product.
Overall Great tractor. I think I bought a Friday afternoon production machine.... Never had a problem in 14 years with my JD 318....

Implements : Just the 62" MMM but got the CX200 coming
Purchased From : Conrady Western, Winfield, KS
Strengths Well, dang, only mowed with it two hours! Just got it delivered today. But mows a lot better than the 425 I traded in. Will re-submit after I use it a while. But it does have plenty of power and is quiet. Seems really stingy with the fuel useage too.
Weaknesses Might have to go along with many of the reviews I read here last night. Just stumbled onto this site while I couldn't sleep waiting for a new toy.
Seems like the most complained about issue was the lights. I didn't really notice that tonight but would be nice if adjustable. Pointed way to low.
Next in order of grips seemed a toss up on no tool box and that danged ROP. Now I agree with both of these. And mainly the ROP. I mow around about 60 trees here and some of them have thorns. Needless to say, I'm now bleeding some from branches being sprung back at me from that over high ROP without the hinge to fold it down when just mowing. I think I'll weld a bit of sicle bar on the top and prune my trees as I mow. The lack of the tool box will be missed too. Even the 425 I traded in had one. Wonder if the dealer would let me take it out and install it on this one?
Overall Again, without a lot of knowledge, I'm impressed so far. I mow about seven acres around about 60 trees and I'm happy I bit the bullet so far. Dealer has been really good so far also.

Implements : FEL, backhoe, 62" MMM, boxblade, post hole digger
Purchased From : Freisen Equip
Strengths Only 21 hours on it so far but very impressed with digging ability of BH and FEL. Controls are easy and fairly intuitive. 4WD seems like it could climb up a tree. Fit and finish top notch. Haven't used the mower, blade, or auger yet, so can't speak to that.
Weaknesses The #&@!ing seat mechanism for turning to use the BH is enough to drive me to drink. When trenching, you have to do a lot of on and off to reposition the tractor, so this is definitely frustrating.
Overall The "make me grin like a little kid" factor of the 2305 is off the charts. I have 5 acres we're building on and was dreading more shovel time. Now, I'm looking for things to dig and excited about the dozens of trees my wife will want to plant. In the short time I've had it, this little workhorse has fulfilled all my expectations. I have no experience with other tractors but was wowed by the incredible feedback from other JD owners. Price is Canadian so seems a bit high. Base tractor was about $14K.

Strengths Turning radius is great, foot pedals are effortless and heels never leave platform.Has power to spare. I have 14 acres and it does everything I ask it to.
Weaknesses No temperature guage, if using bucket at night you'll need the front work lights.
Overall Awsome machine

Implements : FEL, MMM, Scraper blade, Weight box
Purchased From : Bohn Implement
Strengths Lot of loader. I removed an old driveway and was surprised at how much it will push and lift
Weaknesses Rear tire fell off on a saturday afternoon bolts must not of been tightened, but dealer brought a new wheel and installed it sunday morning
Overall Replaced a 445 and an older case tractor with loader and backhoe. Really pleased with it so far.Only weakness is the back tires seem to wobble a little. Don't know if it is the mounting or axles. Built my own weight box for the back and I can pickup anything I should be picking up. Might look at a backhoe for it someday.

Strengths motor is good loader is strong, snowblower is nice easy to hook up .
Weaknesses It should have hydraulic hook ups on the back so you can hook up a dump trailer or back hoe.
I added a skid plate to the bottom because the oil filter is low and could get hit easy ,
Overall I like my like it a lot 142 hours on it now
