Implements : Plow, brush mower, Boom sprayer, 5' box blade, 5' grader blade, 5' tiller 3pt 3 row corn planter
Purchased From : JD Dealer
Strengths This is the third JD compact I've owned. I had a 4110, 2520 and now the 2720. I farm 10 acres of vegetables and use the tractor everyday. I put 180 hours on in the first year no problems. The 32 hp has alot of power. I tried out a orange tractor and the JD out preformed it by far. I have a JD 5' tiller, 5' brush mower and it handles them fine. I put a two bottom plow 14" on this spring and plowed up a old pasture with no problems. I have all my fields fenced and like the ease of turning the tractor has
Weaknesses I have not found any on the 2720
Overall Very good machine I would recommend to all.

Strengths Everything its strong and tought and its bad a__IOts cut grass great and digs great and the backhoe works gtreat I couldn't be any more happy.
Weaknesses I am not very sure with the backhoe. I think J-D could have did a little R&D with the placement of the ram or at least a cover for the ram for the bucket, it seems to be out in open ready for something to tear it off or damage it. The other thing is the Hyd. line for the cx200 loader they are on the bottom of the machine under the foot well(rest). I have not broke anything but it will not take much to cause some problems.
Overall I am very impressed with the power and the machine itself.I was going to buy the 2320 and I its money well spent to go with the 2720. It is perfect. Very powerful, great turning raduis. Niceiest part of all of it the loader and backhoe will fit in to my 16ft. enclosed trailer. with a weight of about 3700lbs.Great machine,Great machine

Implements : 62D Mid Deck, 200CX Loader, 5' Brush Hog, 54" Front Blade, 60" Box Blade
Purchased From : Lakeland Equipment
Strengths Great tractor! Only have 30 hours on it but so far no problems. Starts right up, runs smooth and quiet. The hydrostatic is great and the separate forward and reverse pedals make mowing a snap. Turns very tight and lots of power. I have not had any issues with High gear not having enough power as I have read about in other posts. Mows up moderate grades just fine. It may be the extra horsepower the 2720 has over the other models in this size range. I mow about 4 acres and look forward to it every weekend. Also got the 5’ brush hog and the 2720 powers it just fine. The 200cx loader pops on or off in about 1 or 2 minutes. Flip two latches, use the loaders hydraulics to pull it off the support posts, and pop off 4 quick release hydraulic connectors. Very well thought out. The drive over 62” deck is great too. I have a bad back and need to avoid picking up anything heavy. Not having to try and slide the deck under the tractor is a big plus for me. The front snow blade worked great last winter on my 1000’ driveway. With hydraulic angling and lift, it was a breeze to use. I also recommend the iMatch quick hitch which my dealer threw in for free. Makes switching between implements extremely easy.
Weaknesses None really. While I have run into situations where the loader could not lift or dig what I needed to do, it was beyond what it was spec'd to do. This is not a full blown utility tractor and you have to make compromises in this size range. A larger tractor would probably be less agile for mowing which is my primary need. I can move dirt and junk cars, just need to be a little creative in how I do it.
Overall I love this tractor and its the perfect size for my 20 acre homestead. The 0 interest financing for 4 years was a big help.

Overall Im no fool!! I grew up on a farm with an elder brother who was spiltting and fixing tractors at 15. I,ve picked a thing or two up. At work we have a john deere 4010, its around 24hp, its smaller than the 2720 which is 32hp. We also have a ford 1520, kubota st-30 and a massey 1531,all those can take our 4' flail mower, the 2720s cant, the front wheels don't touch the ground. The 2720 is designed to be lightweight, the rep who sold it to us told us thats its selling point {after he sold it to us}. If it was left to me i would get rid, i wouldn't buy another jd though, we could have got massey 1528 for the same price and thats a better tractor allround. So please don't use this site to slag people off, i just told it like it is. I live in England so i don't no if the model numbers are different over here, and my names Jeff

Overall i dont know where this fool got his info butt the front axel being the some as a 4000's that would make it heavier not lighter. some cowards who wont put their name to what they say may be have a agenda. maybe you should have moved up to a 3000 or 4000 series instead of trying to get by with a less expensive unit? if you are selling your 2720 please contact me! i'll take it off your hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths hasn't got any.
Weaknesses Where do i start, the front axle is the same as the jd4010 which makes it very light on the front. The hand brake is in the most awkward place, i can hardly reach it, in fact i kick it off. The spool valves are situated just right to get coverd in any water and mud that get thrown up by the wheels. It doesn't have a seperate spool block for any front mounted impliments, and have to swap pipes that operate the rear mounted at this one block, which means muck gets in and damages the seals. You can't have both operating at the same time, which isn't very pratical. Only two gear ranges[its a hst]. Ihe hydrolics are week, can only lift 650kg and only tow 800kg unbraked. Other compacts of smaller hp can lift far more and tow double. In fact the framework holding the drawbar snapped. Although this is a 32hp tractor, treat it as a 22hp. It is so light weight, and i haven't mentioned the vibrtion in the steering. We could have got a mf1528 for the same price and i so wish we had.
Overall Don,t buy one, its the worst compact i,ve come across. Its put together with one thing in mind, the biggest profit margin deere can make. They should be reported to trading standards for using the word quality to desribe anything about this tractor
