Strengths Does the jobs I need it to do. Drag 8-10 cords out of the woods every year, then split. Mow fields to keep brush knocked back. Plow snow off the driveway. Build roads in the woods. Renovate pasture, prepare lawns, install gardens. 4WD reliably keeps me out of trouble when I go places I shouldn't. It has been regularly pushed to its limits for about 300 hours, has required minimal maintenance/repairs. I don't think I've ever stalled it.

Weaknesses Would be nice if the core heater had an indicator when it was warm enough to start. Shorter people (about 5'2") can't reach the pedals while sitting in the seat (haven't found a way to adjust the height). Could use an extra valve or two -- though this is probably just the way the dealer installed hoses for rear hydraulic for splitter and front hoses for snow plow -- changing hoses in the snow can be frustrating. (In-)compatibility with the front quick change system can be annoying, wish this were more standard. I understand the stability complaints; I avoid side-tip situations and attack jobs facing up-down.

Overall Good platform for getting a variety of jobs done around the homestead. I'll be adding more attachments over time (lime/fertilizer spreader, forks).

Strengths Tractor is easy to use, fold down ROPS lets you keep inside a 7 ft door. Backhoe is a breeze to remove with the RSA system. No stability issues here (maybe b/c of backhoe?) Entire unit has alot of power for such a small machine.

Weaknesses Should have deluxe loader grille guard as standard equipment not a 400$ option.

Overall Great little tractor, plenty of power, engine starts right up, even in cold weather (push key in to use intake heater) Very impressed with how much work it will do for its size.

Strengths Plenty of power for my needs, which include mowing, heavy brush cutting, clearing, loader work, box blade and snow. Ergonomics are excellent with well-placed hand controls and pedals (far prefer twin forward/reverse to treadle), and diff lock is easy to engage. Seat and ride are comfortable (even w/o the air ride upgrade). Extremely strong hydraulic system with a huge lift capacity for both loader and 3pt. Very smooth e-hydro transmission, which includes Deere’s loadmatch system.

Weaknesses I do wish the position control were on the left side (where step is) so I can fine-tune 3-pt implement height from ground. Loader joystick prevents egress on right. While I have not needed any additional power for my tasks, I have yet to test certain PTO- driven applications, such as wood-chipping and tilling, and so I can’t fully evaluate PTO power. Regarding stability (since some others have voiced concern), the tractor does have a slightly narrow stature for its frame, but for most hill work I tend to avoid the issue by operating in an up/down manner, rather than side/side. Finally (and this is a more general JD comment), I am thinking of adding a grapple, which may cause me to wish I had chosen the skid steer quick attach option over Deere’s proprietary system, which is limited to fewer attachments.

Overall Glad I saved a bunch and bought this version (now discontinued as demand was low, but still available on some lots) at a great price. Power is fine; I easily run a Deere MX5 rotary cutter (med duty), despite having “just” 22 HP at the PTO, largely because it can easily lift this cutter’s massive 1100lbs with the 3pt. Generally find that I lose traction before power – I have the large R4s (filled in the rear). Loader lift capacity is great, and is equal to all others in the 3x20 series due to a strong hydraulic system. A very capable and extremely user-friendly tractor.
