Strengths hydraulics seem to be affective

Weaknesses fuel system aweful, very time consuming to prime, you have to have a full tank of fuel to prime or keep primed, I have sent my 5520 tractor in 2 time at a cost of well over $2000 to get the fuel system lined out and reprimed!

Overall I will not purchase another John Deere tractor due to the aggravations I have experienced with my 5520.

Strengths nice sized tractor for haying, loader & utility work

Weaknesses fuel supply system is very unreliable. nearly impossible to prime after changing fuel filters. frequently will not start(looses fuel prime) when at less than 1/2 tank. john deere designed without a supply fuel pump between under-cab tank and injector pump on engine. unexcusable. should be recalled and remedied by deere. clutch modulation with reverser is too abrupt, foot clutch operation is too grabby.

Overall other than fueling problems the tractor is much as one would want in this size. the clutch is annoying; the fuel system makes it an egg sucker.
