Strengths Excellent mid-size tractor value. Very powerful, especially with MFWD option. Proven 4cvl turbo charged engine matches well with available 8 speed drivetrain. tight turning radius and good ground clearance.

Weaknesses No frills tractor lacks some modern amenities; pto is gear driven off crankshaft, which means disengagement is not instant, continues to freewheel when disengaged. Dry clutch could be a problem with loader option/frequent stops.

Overall Very satisfied with tractor. Perfect size for 'sundown' farmer. Primary use is row cropping on 500 acre hunting plantation. Purchased in 2006 and have had zero problems.

Weaknesses Clutch is very hard to operate, the clutch spring tension is too much for older peope,my ease of use rating is low due to the pedal clutch tension.

Overall This is a very good tractor for the money, but would not rate the clutch tension very high because your leg getsw very tired after operating tractor for a while. This tractor has 160 hrs on it. P.S. I have contacted John Deere about clutch problems.

Strengths Good reliable strong tractor. Cheap price for what it can do. Good thing about tractor is everything is mechanically activated--no electronics to go wrong. Very simple to operate and easy to work on.

Weaknesses The dry clutch if using it heavy will get very hot and score. I had mine 585 hours in 7 months, and after mowing 300 miles of highway, the clutch started acting up. It never slipped but made noise on release. Another weakness is cab luxury--no airride seat option, or passenger seat option. Cab option if you get joystick for loader, you can't get right hand door.

Overall Overall a good tractor, if you need simple cheap horsepower and don't need all the frills and don't make frequent starts and stops--this tractor is perfect for you. You won't be sorry.
