Strengths fuel economy. tough machine

Weaknesses clutch wears out fast about 500-600 hours hydraulics weak (people have reshimmed to increase pressure a little) green parts very expensive (main trans disk alone $500, pto disk $200 + pressure plates)

Overall reliability durability

Strengths Lots of power for a small tractor. Easy to manoeuver. Four wheel drive and diff. lock are great. Great on fuel. Easy power steering. Always starts even when extremely cold.

Weaknesses The hydraulics for the loader are weak. Would be nice to have rear working lights.

Overall This has been a great machine for me. This tractor often does jobs that should be done by a bigger tractor. Other than regular mantinance it has never needed a thing.

Strengths This machine is great in many different ways. The loader serves well when moving wood, gravel,dirt or snow. This machine is great for tight places.It is user friendly.I love this tractor. I have owned other John Deere tractors but this one does it all

Weaknesses Needs Overhead lights standard with loader operations. Needs stronger hydraulic system and needs rear working lights.Belly mower won't work with R-4 Tires (According to Dealer)

Overall I think this machine serves well. I would strongly encourage anyone in WV VA OR MD to check with this dealer before you buy. ask for AJ or Russell both are great guys to work with

Strengths Lots of power for a little tractor. I pulled my 3 bottom plow in my 1 acre garden and sweetcorn patch with ease. 4WD is awesome. I have R4 loaded tires and this thing will go anywhere you can make it fit. I was pushing limbs into a steep ditch and ended up over the edge with the front end and loader well into the ditch. I pulled out backwards with ease.

Weaknesses A little light on the hydraulics. For moving big round bales I just use a pull type bale mover. Would be nice to have extra set of outlets on the back. After having the extension hoses and ends to get to the back of the tractor made I would suggest just buying the kit from JD for $150. Both are pricey but, JD kit is cheaper and easier to install.

Overall Most bang for your buck. You can buy bigger hp tractors for less but, this tractor is the perfect size to mow your yard and do the heavy jobs as well around my 80 acre farm. The joystick for the FEL is so easy to use. I grew up around IH tractors with the quad range so I am use to the gears. However it would be nice to have 4 gears in reverse as well.

Strengths Very good on fuel,A little light on front end but carries 5- 50lb. wieghts and filled tires with water and cured problem, this tractor does way more than it should for it's size.Steering is great, Differental works like a charm.

Weaknesses No tool box or rear work lights.

Overall Overall with the good resale and power i love this tractor and will buy Deere forever. Pleasant experience with dealer and Deere Company itself.

Strengths Starts up even when the mercury drops to -20, great turning radius, plenty of power to move the manure and snow. This little bugger hasn't failed me yet.

Weaknesses Should come with rear work lights as standard.

Overall Worth the money and will do all the chores you put in front.

Strengths I love this tractor. I've owned it for about 5 years. I have the Ag tires on from about Nov. - April then put on the turf for mowing. Plenty of power. Very little maintenance. Did replace the battery with auto battery. I have about 500 hrs and only had to fix what I broke from stupid moves like dropping a tree on the hood.

Weaknesses Tippy for sure. Needs a toolbox. After 5 years I'm still trying to decide where. I use it on my 6 acres almost daily. Great for getting logs out of hard to get areas.

Overall So glad I made the investment when I did. I think I saved my back with this one. May look to buy just a little bit bigger one someday, but this is fine for now.

Strengths Runs great, easy to start, good on fuel, love the power steering, has a good turning radius, good power band. Used on a 10 acre farm and it does all that we ask of it. Would buy this model again. Excellent dealer also.

Weaknesses Had to add work lights, upgraded the alternator, added hydraulics for attaching a backhoe. These are minor weaknesses, but feel that these items should be standard features. Also, am a little dis-appointed that this is a Yanmar in JD green. FEL assembled in Canada, but made in CHINA! But what isn't anymore?

Overall I've always liked JD and will buy again. For the size and price range, this is a great little tractor.

Overall Love it

Strengths power galore. I've run quite a few tractors in my day, and this one is my favorite. Most jobs can be done in the 1200-1500rpms range. Manual tranny is great, no flaws. Locking diff for rears is outstanding, and the FWD is a must for offroad or field applications. Pulls a 60 scraper with teech all the way down in gravel (hardpack) with no problem.

Weaknesses No rear lights standard. No float for the 3point or bucket

Overall after owning this tractor and abusing it for 10 hours, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! Great tractor for the money. Green is my favorite color!
