Weaknesses transmission: have had to have the transmission rebuilt twice, about 1 year apart. Just mowing half my yard (2.5 acres) weekly, mostly flat.

Strengths Easy to operate, plenty of power,very good construction, greese fittings on most moving parts, oil change is quick. Over 200 Hrs on my machine without a problem.

Weaknesses Mower guide wheels are light duty, gas filler is in a poor location you must use a funnel. My local Home Depot does not do a very good job of stocking parts such as blades.

Overall I was very fortunate to find someone who had owned the tractor and barely put 19 hours on it. I mow about 2.5 acres and the mower handles it with ease. I'm very satisfied.

Strengths Plenty of POWER! I mow about 2.5 acres per week between home and church and have been impressed with how easily this tractor mows & mulches the grass regardless of the height or thickness. In the last two months I have used it to plow snow and with the snow blade and chains it cruises through 8 inches without a problem. I am in the process of ordering a Johnny Bucket and a Berco Tiller for the spring. I love this tractor!

Weaknesses Could use a more powerful transmission with dual range. There are times I long for a 3 gallon fuel tank! Hard to find weaknesses.

Weaknesses I wish it had a few more attachments available. ...a pull-behind plow, for example, would make gardening a lot easier.

Overall I love it! We've only had it a little while, but it has cut my mowing time down by 60%! I have, however, lost a little time due to neighbors coming over and asking to borrow it, but I can live with that. I bought it on-line and was impressed with JD's on-line purchase system. I got the same incentives as people visiting dealers and in the end was able to select my delivery dealer. It kept me out of that big chain home improvement store, so that made me feel better. My dealer called me the same day I placed the order and delivered it the next afternoon, all prepped and ready to run! Great experience purchasing on-line!

Strengths nothing runs like a deere !!!

Weaknesses a little hard to start.

Overall I bought my L120 this spring. It now has 35 hours on it with no problems at all. i mow almost 2 acres with lots of hills & trees. This mower has tons of power and has never bogged down even in wet grass. it is a little hard to start sometimes when it's been sitting for over a week or so, but if you play with the choke while cranking it, it'll fire right off. i couldn't live with the reverse button so i unhooked it. it made it a joy to mow with. behind the dash you'll find the switch, pull the 2 connecting wires off the switch terminals and connect a jumper wire between the connecting wires and that's it. of course i'm not suggesting that YOU do this, but i did and love it. i have been mulching leaves with it for several weeks now and it does a great job. overall, it's the best mower i've ever owned, and a lot of mower for the money. go for it.....
