Strengths nice seat, about it
Weaknesses everything. No traction, mows uneven, backfires when you shut it off, blades won't last, spindles won't last, belts won't last, front wheel bushings won't last.
Overall I bought this monster 7 years ago and have been stuck with it. First mowing was great. Ever since then it has been down hill. Second mowing it started mowing uneven and leaving streaks. Replaced 2 spindles first season and have had to every season I have had it. Blades are cheap and won't last, they split on the ends. The belts don't last. The front wheel bushings don't last. The thing backfires when you shut it off and has since day one. It has no traction. It is awful. Bought it from Home Depot thinking a John deere was a John Deere, not so. When I talk to authorized dealer they pretty much laugh and tell me not much they can do cause they didn't sell it to me. I'll never buy a John deere again.

Strengths Easy to use, powerful, cuts great, comfortable and quiet, easy to start.
Weaknesses spindles that come on mower have no place to grease them. Replacement ones do.
Overall Great mower! Every problem I see listed on other reviews are from either poor maintenance or improper adjustment! I GUARANTEE it! I could take any of these mowers and fix it right up. It's too bad these people don't know how to adjust a deck for an even cut or grease something. Read your manual people!

Strengths nice cup holder
Weaknesses smokes on startup, bacfires on shutdown, belts won't stay on, uneven cut, leaves back up on deck, bagger won't stay unplugged,BLOWN ENGINE. Oh ya, that is about 1600.00 to replace. Seems worth it for such a great machine
Overall I bought this from a J.D. dealer before it was released to Home Depot. Wish I would have known it wass mass produced. Nothing runs like a deere.

Strengths Its lasted almost 5 years without any major repairs. The sad part is that this is it there is nothing else that i can say is a strength
Weaknesses And thats where it stops. Bogs down in high grass, never has cut even. i have repalced enough small things that i could have bought a professional unit. Spendel on unit have no grease fittings but the replacements ones do. PTO clutch has a clip that the tab breaks off on. Belts never stay on. Transmission fan is made of plastic which breaks. And now to the good part the transmission is dead. And the smoking on start up and backfiring on turn off has been since the day I bought it. Deere says that is normal. Our local deere distributer actually had the nerve to tell me thats what i get for buying a mass produced unit from Home Depot. it has taken 6 sets of blades to cover 350 hours, 7 sets of mower belts, and 3 drive belts. And this crap is expensive. I just dont understand how so much crap can end up un top of the deck while mowing. And this unit is shed keep and ther is rust and paint chipping away everywhere.
Overall This is my first riding mower so the good part is that it can only get better from here. If all you can afford is this mower then keep pushing and save more money. Maybe once apon a time Deere products were at the top of the charts but after this Maybe they have put profit way ahead of making dependable products. Stay away far far away.

Strengths Does a good cut.
Weaknesses Extemely loud. If I cut my back yard which takes an hour without ear protection I can not hear for the rest of the day and have soar ears from noise. Had a yearly service done by JD dealer and was told it was ok. Something is not right, It Should not be this loud It is also very hard on gas.
Overall Will never buy another JD tractor again. I paid more for a JD thinking it was a superior product. Not so!!! JD made big mistake in mass producing these Home Depot models because they have lost a big chunk of quality along with their reputation.

Overall I have over 50 hours on it, no problem with mower spindles, or belts. Starts easy and so far has been trouble free.

Price Paid : $0.00

Strengths Runs for a while.. until
Weaknesses the L130 quits going up a slight incline. After trans cools down, will cut for a limited time. Was told that the oil in the trans needs to be replaced with high temperature tolerant oil; IN A SEALED UNIT! causing the trans to overheat. JD says it's out of warranty, replace at customer expense..well,what a crock of SH..! Even the operator's manual states that there is no operator maintenance required (sealed unit)! Backfires thru Koehler 23hp engine, uneven cut when blades replaced
Overall DON'T BY A J.D. Name recognition isn't what it used to be
