Strengths Plenty of power. Mow a 3 acre yard. Tall grass due to other lawn mower breaking. NO stalling.

Weaknesses Needs bigger fuel tank. Filled twice

Strengths Very easy to operate. My wife loves it as do I. Best money I have spent on a lawn tractor. Coming from a Toro Wheel Horse 13-38 this thing is like an animal. Very good power and takes care of everything I throw at it.

Weaknesses Thirsty..needs a bigger fuel tank.

Strengths Tractor has performed like a champ from day one, the cut on the yard is nice and level, the side discharge exhausts the cut grass very even. This tractor has power to spare and is a real joy to ride. The seat and controls are right where they should be in easy reach. I have yet to refill the gas tank with 1.4 hours on the clock, I bet there is still about half a tank left.

Weaknesses For the price John Deere could have included an amp or volt meter on the dash and even an engine tach. I do wish the Hydro could be serviced.

Overall I am very happy with this fine tractor, it is everything I thought a John Deere would be, this is our first John Deere. The ride is very stable, the seat makes you feel good, the engine just runs and never feels like it ever stumbles due to lack of power, I am glad we settled on the John Deere L130 at a John Deere Dealer. The John Deere Dealer was Richards Tractors in Homestead Florida, the Tractor is now in Cape Coral Florida due to a move. Richards Tractor was very good to us.

Strengths The 23hp Kohler coupled w/the 48" deck easily handled over 8" tall thick grass without stalling. Foot controlled HST makes it very easy to operate. Both hands are free for other purposes. Bagger picks up both grass & leafs very well w/the std blades. Didn't have to use the hi-lift blades that were included in the bagger kit. Mulches dry grass & leaves very well. The operator station is comfortable and the steering is tight & responsive.

Weaknesses The K46 HST wasn't designed for enduser service with no external filter, drain or fill plug provided. Reverse speed could stand to be faster. Fuel tank is too small, only good for approx 1.5 acres between fillups. No ammeter or charge indicator.

Overall The L130 is a very good lawn tractor that is easy & comfortable to operate for continuous mowing upto 2.5 acres. It provides a very nice std cut, mulching cut & bagger cut/pickup and you can swap between these cutting modes in mere minutes without tools. Would recommend purchasing from a JD dealer as opposed to Home Depot as I have found that HD purchased L series JD's get the lowest service priority at the servicing JD dealership. Only problem I've had in 25 hrs of operation was with a manufacture defect within the Kohler engine and a Kohler certified repair shop repaired it under warranty and I had in back in sevice in about week. The L130 has ran very well since that service.
