Overall In contrast to the above reviews, I like this mower alot. I have had no issues with the discharge chute clogging. The safety features are there for safety. You can get off the machine without the engine shutting down by simply applying the parking break and disengaging the blade. I have had to replace primary deck belt! But in stark contrast to previous reviews, I was able to do it in 45 minutes without removing the mower deck!!! You don't always have to follow all of the directions to the T. If you can find a used model in good shape, I would highly ricommend it.

Strengths starts right up. built in hopper/discharge bag. alarm when bag is full.

Weaknesses discharge chute is easily clogged. near impossible to change belt when it breaks. I was able to mow my lawn just 2 times before the first belt broke. I will probably give up and bring it in to have service technicians replace the belt for $500. weak.

Overall Good mower for towing things reliably, but probably don't want to mow a lawn with it.

Weaknesses End of rams for lifting hopper easily bent when hopper is removed for cleaning. Reversing safety overide switch a pain, had it removed.

Overall I bought a LTR last summer to replace my 185 Hydro. I'm unhappy with it for several reasons. 1. This machine is bogged down with so many safety features it is almost impossible to mow the lawn. You can't get off the mower without it shutting off. If you have to drive through gates you are restarting many times. To back up you need to press a button or it will shut off. 2. You cannot lube the blade spindals without removing the mower deck. 3. You must remove the mower deck to replace the top (primary) belt. You will need to replace theis belt often. 4. With much pratice removing the deck is still a 4 hour job! 5. If your lawn is a little tall or damp your mower will clog, ALOT. To unclog it you had better be wearing old cloths as you'll need to get real dirty uncloging it. 6. Their is no fuel gage! Keep in mind I have bought new John Deers for many years. I have owned big 60 HP 4X4 JD's right down to lawn tractors. I am very disappointed with this unit. My previous lawn tractor (185 Hydro) lasted for 15 years and all I did was change oil. I do not recommend this tractor

Overall Have just bought the LTR180,I provide a part-time lawncutting service. So far have found it to be an excellent mower,mulcher is very good amd the machine is very sturdy.Only compalint is that,when the hopper is full,the rams to lift the hopper will only lift if a few inches,you have to reach back and left the hopper fully.Also,closing the hopper takes a bit of effort,they would have been better off using the traditional vertical level to empty/close the hopper. Apart from that,great machine
