Strengths Nice tractor, handles nicely, gives a nice cut (42" C deck), smooth engine (Kawa), slope mowing is not a problem if you have mowed slope before. Sits higher than older lawn tractors. No traction problems when mowing on soft ground.

Weaknesses No fuel gauge, alot of plastic that scratches easily, not easy to keep clean. Twin rear bagger needs some redesigning.

Overall Good reliable tractor.

Weaknesses Terrible mowing, scalps, leaves ridges if you are mowing on a slope. Have to set the cutting height higher that I want to avoid scalping. Safety features burdensome. Why does the mower stop when the brake is applied??

Overall Does everything great except mow grass!! Should be a better machine fo $3200. Dealer is of no use, says my lawn is to blame. My 4th and last John Deere.

Strengths Comfortable seat, controls. Easy to steer. Easy to change implements. Starts every time, as long as you remember to keep the battery charged

Weaknesses Short on traction - even chained up, it won't climb the slopes around my house and driveway. Plowing snow is a real challenge, I have to hand shovel a path to the top of the driveway so that I can plow going down hill. The grease nipples on the front axle are placed in such a way that the mower deck has to be removed to get a standard grease gun in place. The tires have a habit of going flat. I filled them with Slime sealer.

Overall Still having fun after a year and a half.

Strengths Very strong machine. Great turning capabilities, good on hills, strong bagger system, very smooth engine.

Weaknesses The only weakness I have found was that I cannot pull a small garden trailer because the bagger frame will not allow enough room for the trailer hitch to fit down on the trailer ball. I removed the hitch off of the trailer and dropped a pin through to pull the trailer

Overall I kept looking at a 24 h.p. Sears professional machine. It looked like the best for the money. As I was about to buy the Sears, I decided I would look at a John Deere other than the L series found at Lowes, Home Depot. I knew the X300 would be more money but I decided to look anyway. There is no comparison between the L and X series. The X series is a small commercial tractor built for many, many years of service. The X series was at least $1,000 more but once you see it, you can understand why. I have run my X330 for 2 1/2 hours as I just picked up the machine Tuesday, 2/2/10. I wanted to go ahead and purchase a machine now because of having to cut the Zoysia grass back close to the ground this time of the year. The bagger system worked great. It left a very clean ground and I was shocked at how well and even the grass was cut.

Overall where is my 2186 cub cadet when I need it! I will never stray from cub cadet again!

Strengths Good, fun to use Tractor. Balanced ride. E-Z to use and clean. Decent turning to get in close. No problem loading up the little red wagon with dirt or logs from hurricane- still lots of power. Bagging system works like a gem (three acres of leaves).

Weaknesses My yard is not like a smooth football field. Wish the deck went a little higher. Expected a little higher top end speed when driving down road. Uneven cut when on angle like cutting arount the slight incline of the pool.

Overall After 60 hours- I have gotten use to the reverse cutting technique- lot of complaints on the internet- when I found out that they were talking about lifting that little lever- what crybabies. Conroe dealer- excellent. Would definitely by again. Good ride, smooth, comfortable, and reliable (so far).

Strengths Awesome machine.Great power and tight turning radius.Very comfortable for larger guys.You can tell the higher quality in this machine compared to the LA series.Can turn this mower with 1 finger.Have had no problems in 1 1/2 years of ownership.

Weaknesses Wish it had rear anti-scalp wheels as well as the front ones.Tires are whimpy and a simple thorn will make them go flat.Wish the seat was wider with arm rests.No deck wash port like cheaper LA models have.

Overall Overall its a great machine.Im on my second year of using it.Very comfortable with lots of power.Very tight turning radius with ease of use.Well built machine.Better than the LA series.Never broke down and never had to have it serviced for warranty items.Adjusting the deck for eveness was easy however i had to adjust the left side out so much farther out than the right side to keep deck level for some reason.
