Strengths smooth handling, easy to use machine. The kawasaki engine is plenty powerful. Love the tight turning radius

Weaknesses Have had this unit 1 summer. Had it in twice on warranty as it was chewing up the drive belt. Did the proper winter storage and went to start it this spring- no spark. There was a defective module.

Overall I love the ride, ease of use and quick mowing job, but am getting real nervous about the problems that keep appearing on this new machine. The dealer has been great to deal with the problems under warranty, but what happens when the warranty expires? I thought I was getting a reliable unit.

Strengths I cut about 21/2 acres of grass on rough terrain. The ride is good, the performance excellent.

Weaknesses Sometimes leaves ridges in lawn

Strengths I'm a big guy---over 300#. Even with me on the JD x300 this tractor climbs the hills with ease. Runs beautifully, and drives ever so easy.

Weaknesses Just the slightest unevenness in the yard causes the JD x300 to cut "ridges" in the lawn. I can't always cut up and down the hill, and cutting across the hill does terrible things to the yard. Even the smallest little divot, where the cable tv wire was laid under the yard causes these ridges. Any suggestions on how to eliminate them would be greatly appreciated. My lawn will never be perfectly level.

Overall Very nice mower. Runs and drives so much nicer than my 15 yr old Bradley did.

Strengths Outstanding balance and torque. My acreage is made up of slopes and steep hills. The X300 navigates my property safely and with ease. The X300 has all the torquse and power I need to mow and maintain 4 acres of very challenging lawn. Even in wet weather (Portland, Oregon) the X300 performs very well.

Weaknesses I have used the X300 for almost two seasons now and have not had a single incident or maintenance issue. It starts, runs and works perfectly week after week. I have not found a weakness in this machine.

Overall Built to last. The overall added quality and transmission power as well as upgraded Kawasaki engine used in the X300 comparied to other machines sold in big box stores is worth the extra few hundred dollars. I do all the maintenance schedules and the X300 does all the work.
