Strengths 2013 John Deere x534 AWS Garden Tractor.
This John Deere is Extremely maneuverable, Quiet, with a very powerful and fuel efficient Kawasaki engine. It has the stability of a mountain goat even on the steepest of slopes. Smooth as butter power steering, hydraulic deck lift, very comfortable driver area with adjustable seat and tilt steering wheel. Foot controlled differential lock and traction control. Very heavy tractor and Solidly built. My last John Deere was a 260 model that I owned for more than 20 years with no problems or repairs of any kind. It still looked good and ran great when I sold it. It likewise had a Kawasaki engine.
Weaknesses I really have not found any weaknesses with this tractor so far, I'm really not expecting either. I read the other reviews from 2008 and 2009 mentioning a design flaw in the 4 wheel steering causing the deck to tilt and scalp in turns. I have the 48" deck and I have NOT had any problems with the mower tilting or scalping in tight turns, shallow turns or going straight. I get a very smooth and even manicured cut always in any direction.
Overall I just sold my 2012 Craftsman CTX 9500 which is the Simplicity Prestige model. It was a good tractor but it doesn't hold a candle to this X534. Zero turn mowers cannot handle my property, it is too hilly, and you can't steer the ZT's on the steep hills plus they tear up the grass when trying to turn. No at all a problem for my x534. This Tractor was made for my property. I cannot sing it's praises enough. This is hands down, the best mower I have purchased. Believe me, I have had everything; Kubota, Cub Cadet, Skagg, Simplicity, even other John Deere models.
