Strengths OWN A 2009 DK40SE./ REALLY LOVE THE HYDRO, & THE CONVEINENCE OF ALL THE CONTROLS. FRONT BUCKET REALLY COMES IN HANDY ON THE FARM. A/C WORKS GREAT.& THE CAB KEEPS NOISE & DUST DOWN TO A MINIMUM.

Weaknesses DOESN'T HAVE THE POWER I THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE WHEN BUSH-HOGGING W/5ft BUSH-HOG. HAVE TO REALLY TORK UP THE RPM's WHEN CLIMBING HILLS ETC. WISH I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN MORE H.P. HAD A MANUAL SHIFT W/SAME H.P. BEFORE & NO PROBS.ALSO WHEN RAISING IMPLEMENT, HAVE TO WATCH REAR TIRES. IMPLEMENTS WILL GO INTO REAR TIRES WHEN RAISING, IF YOU RAISE IT TOO FAST OR TOO HIGH.! NEED LONGER ARMS ETC. FROM TRACTOR, DUNNO.??

Overall REALLY LOVE THE TRACTOR,& THE WAY IT HANDLES, EXCEPT FOR THE POWER WHEN BUSH-HOGGING.( I'M SURE MORE H.P. WOULD HANDLE THIS EASILY THOUGH, MY MISTAKE.!)

Overall I like this tractor and I am pleased with the investment. The hydro is very nice, but coming from a standard mechanical transmission there is definately a differance in the power. I think once I "learn" how to handle this tractor it will be better, but the power available in a 40 Hp Hydro verses a 40 Hp standard is not the same. If you are going from a standard to a Hydro, consider getting something 10-15 Hp over what you had in the standard. The Hydro is great with the 3 point mounted roto tiller and any other equipment that is PTO driven, the Hydro allows you a great deal more flexibility in the speed you travel while still applying power to the impliment. Overall I like the Kioti and would recommend it. For the cost it had the best quality and the most features

Strengths I bought the DK40se.Very good quality tractor,great seating,powerful,easy to read gauges.The tranny is the 12 speed shuttle shift.

Overall I looked at Kubota 3940,4240 & Mahindra 4110 and the Kioti DK40se.The koiti has alot to offer for the price $18,000.The Kubota was $7,000 bucks more and the Mahindra was around $2,800 more than the Kioti.I think I got one heck of a bargin on a very nice Tractor.If you are shopping for a new tractor don,t overlook the Koiti brand.

Strengths I was in the excavation business for 35 years and retired and wanted one tractor that would be both an industrial and farm tractor. I wanted a backhoe/loader, but I also wanted a tractor I could mow and plow with. The Kioti DK-40 SE is exactly what I was looking for. It has a lot of power at 1800 rpm, and with the low range and 4-wheel drive it will push like a much larger tractor. The hydrostat transmission really is a joy to operate. All of the controls are easy to reach and the seat is very comfortable. The fit and finish are about as good as it gets . After you raise the hood, you can remove the front and side panels and it really makes the tractor easy to service. Many of the tractors of years ago were a nightmare to work on because everything was behind something. There is a lot of good engineering that has gone into the Kioti. I tested a lot of tractors for several years before I bought the Kioti. There are a lot of good tractors out there but, in my opinion, the Kioti is as good as any. The engine does not use any oil, and there are no hydraulic leaks anywhere. It is quick to start and does not smoke like some of the other compact tractors I have operated. The loader and backhoe are very smooth and have a lot of power. The “floating” feature of the front bucket will make even a beginner smooth dirt or build roads like a pro! Visibility is excellent. My Kioti is quality built, front to back.

Weaknesses Because the tractor does not have a clutch, it has an electric PTO. You have to idle the engine down or it will really kick in hard. It is either on or off. I would prefer a PTO I can ease into, but this tractor is so great I will learn to live with it. Everything else overshadows this little problem.

Overall I was not looking for the lowest price when I bought my Kioti, but I did save a bunch over one of the “Big Three”. I was looking for a quality built tractor that would help me do the work on my property. The Kioti just seemed like the perfect tractor for what I wanted. Hopefully, I will get many years out of this tractor. Only time will tell. Cosper Tractor of Burleson, Texas is a small, Ma-Pa dealership. They were easy to deal with and have done everything they said they would do. The bottom line is: The Kioti Dealer has been great, and I’m more impressed with the DK-40 SE every time I use it. I would buy another Kioti if something happened to mine. If you are looking for a Compact Tractor, test them all and find one you like and buy it. I hope you’ll be as happy as I am!
