Strengths I
Weaknesses Bought used from dealer. Have had several little problems, all to be expected considering the 390 hours on the tractor. The dealer has replaced the battery twice, alternator once, and one or two lesser things I don't remember, all at no cost to me in the first three months. Since then they have replaced a hydraulic tube that had developed a pin point hole. They straightened the impeller on the blower which I bent on a stone invisible under the snow.
Strengths are many. It starts easily, even when the temp is near zero, as long as I plug engine block heater for a half- to an hour. It maneuvers well and never stalls. The FEL is very useful. I wish I could leave it on and still have the blower on. The blower does a fast job of removing the snow. The tractor doesn't seem to use much fuel, a little more in snow that cutting grass. I have no regrets with this Kubota 1800. It now has 430 hours on it.
Overall I never had a riding mower, let alone a tractor of any size. This is not only a practical purchase, it is FUN! Sometimes I wish my machine had a few more hp., but it is amazing what one can do with this vehicle. This past summer I used it to cut "grass" [really weeds], dig out small boulders and push small trees into a pile. Since snow season the blower has made quick clearing of the drive, and a path around the house, to get to the roof with a rake.
