Strengths Fuel efficent

Weaknesses Radiator screen gets dirty and must be cleaned between every use. plastic body parts are weak and cheap. tractor is too light to handle a 4ft brush hog safely. Have the 54"belly mower. On the second one. first one bent. 2nd one the gear box needs replaced. even with regular greasing it broke after 2 yrs.

Overall I will not buy another kubota. they are overall poor quaility.

Strengths good strong engine, cuts grass well, doesn't burn very much fuel

Weaknesses plastic body has completely deterioted in 4 years. I have no less than 20 cracks in plastic body, has gotten very brittle, can't repair any longer, wrap around is completely broken and no longer repairable, Has always been kept inside, never out in weather. Piece of junk and new ones cost $500.00 plus. Buy any other tractor that has metal body, Kubota's plastic body is junk.

Overall Very satisfied with mechanical performance. Due to cheap body made of plastic, I will never buy another tractor with any plastic body. Cracks and breakage started after a couple of years, just when the warranty ran out.

Strengths Rugged little tractor, well engineered, fits into small spaces that larger tractor will not, should last for many, many years. Great fuel economy, very handy and will accept numerous 3 point hitch attachements.

Weaknesses Would like a standard guage tachometer and cruise control would be nice. I am being extra careful getting on and off the tractor so that I do not crack the plastic deck like otehrs have.

Overall Awesome tractor, very handy around our 70 acres for mowing the pasture and trails in the woods, FEL is SO handy, got a great deal from my local dealer as the tractor only had 109 hours on it. Have been a John Deere fan for years (own a Gator XUV 620i and a Z445 zero turn) but JD just did not compare with the quality and engineering of the Kubota. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Strengths Plenty of power in a small package makes this a handy tractor. 4X4 is needed to help since the weight is a little low. Always starts for year round ues. Uses very little fuel, quick to change loader/mower. Literally takes minutes.

Weaknesses Deck cracked, (plastic) Dealer changed it. Loader makes tractor super tippy, be very careful! Easy to overload. You need to clean the radiator screen frequently! Tach is in a hard to see spot. Hour meter only appears for a moment.

Overall I love this little machine. Use it all of the time. It has enough power to run a 51" blower in deep snow, without even pulling the motor down. I am certain I test the limits of this tractor at least monthly. Never has let me down.

Strengths well built and idiot proof. Mower has gone through pasture several feet high and cut a path through forest - NO problems. Loader is fantastic. Dealer here is nothing short of amazing - none of the additude JD gave me. Kubota has a great name - great resale. Great seat. Full class 1 hitch. Full temperature guage. 12V DC outlet. Hydraulic lines well protected- not like on JD. Starts in cold Canadian winter no problem. Save the money and buy extra implements. Super mowing results - specially with bagger. In everyway a "real" tractor.

Weaknesses Bolts on mower belt pulley came loose - perhaps not torqued right @ factory. Gauge cluster has been replaced twice - has a problem cracking open and lets water/dust in. Get an extra long replacement agreement on this part from dealer. Optional cruise doesn't always engage at first. Pedals on JD2305 were nicer, but that's the only plus I could find. Reverse stops very abruptly - apparently Kubota was sued at one point, so they did this on purpose. Plastic body parts. Loses cutting quality when turning unless you slow down or use the bagger. No tool box. Mixed view on the asking price of the bagger. Lights insufficient when using loader. Plastic battery cover/screen doesn't fit "perfectly".

Overall Acreage owner (13 acres) with hobby farm aspirations. Originally wanted a JD2305, then compared with the bigger BX's, and at the last moment decided on BX1850. I made the right choice. Mow 6 acres with it. Till a volleyball pit and large garden. Have used the loader for everything. Using loader to remove snow works ok, but maybe should consider a blade as well. Have found myself wishing for more horsepower on couple ocassions but each time I solved the problem by releasing the park brake DOH! Dealer installed extra lighting (pretty much needed with loader) and welded a pair of "forks" for the loader while John Deere sales made me feel like a nobody. Heaven forbid I need to finance a tractor! Kubota's financing in Canada is fantastic - hassle free. 12 year old daughter is very productive on it - loves to drive it. Have learned 18HP is lots when it's a diesel. Hopefully will still be in good shape for my grandchildren.

Strengths Plenty of power, you get all 18hp to apply to what you need. 4wd is very efficient as well as rear diff. Easy to get in and out of small spaces. Loader will definitely lift more than the rated 400lb (almost 2x that). Well made frame. Will crawl over just about anything. Ease of use, ease of getting the implements off. The fuel usage is excellent. Holds it's value.

Weaknesses Tach behind steering wheel - would rather have a dial tach, cockpit floor has cracked, replaced quickly and free from dealer, but the new one just cracked again. Only easy to exit on left side due to FEL lever. Plastic body parts. Needs util lights mounted on ROPS (I mounted my own). It gets tipsy and downright scary if you carry a load on an off camber pitch. Even on flat ground, it lifts more than it should and the rear comes up pretty easy even with water weighted tires. Needs more rear weight. Not a lot of implements to attach to the 3 point for this particular model. A bolt was too long in the undercarriage and was starting to score my front drive shaft. Dealer fixed but that should have been caught at the factory. (you guys may want to check yours)

Overall I love this tractor. It is well built and the frame is sturdier than smaller competition's models. The engineering allows it to utilize all 18 horses to whatever you are doing. I rarely bog this machine and typically it's because I am asking it to do something it was not designed to do(like 800# scoops of wet crusher run). I do not like all the plastic. The deck has cracked 2x. I am not sure what the issues other posters have but I can take my loader and/or mow deck off in under 2 minutes. Just make sure it's level. I have done a lot of work with this machine and althougha bit pricey, you get what you pay for. This should last forever. It never overheats, maintenance is pretty easy as you can remove the entire engine shroud. Most of what I nitpicked about is my fault - it does and exceeds anythignit was designed for and it is manufactured well. The frame, axels and drive seem almost overbuilt when you look at the competition.

Strengths Great Tractor, I mow 5.5 acres this is a blessing. Just got done moving a triaxle load of dirt, made a homemade toothbar and this thing digs like a dog. Runs smooth, mower easy on easy off, same for loader, about 3 mins.

Weaknesses haven't found any

Overall highly recommend, was going to buy a boomer that would have been 5000.00 more

Strengths Easy to use, my very small wife and then me being very tall, no problem. Easy for operator on and off. Fits its in tight spaces. Get 4 bricks to drive up on and it is easy to service. Very good fuel economy. Used the loader for snow removal, not as fast as a blower, works great. Power: 18 horse will lift, push, mow, drag, pull everything I have needed it too. I use it to push over trees and yank stumps out of the ground. Trust me, I worried about it... It has never stalled, even after my neighbors JD 755 did. Traction with 4 wheel drive and diff. lock is unbelievible. Loader on and off is extremely easy once you figure out process. Engine Cooling: After testing the other offerings, the one thing i noticed was the cooling filtering system, very easy to keep clean hence cool when mowing. The JD 2305 which is much more tractor than the BX 1850 got hot and was a pain to clear radiator verse just wiping of the exposed filter right in front of operator. The list could go on forever.

Weaknesses A bit loud. The seat seems to move slightly back and forth freedom which wears out my back after hours of mowing. Lights are worthless with FEL. No toolbox. Mower deck on and off is a pain (trick: I use the FEL to lift front wheels off ground... then very easy).

Overall OK, as you can tell, I love this little tractor. Don't compare it to its large brothers from Kubota, JD, or NH. I bought it because it was smaller than the other offerings. The couple extra inches of the bigger brothers would be a big negitive for me and my 2 acre lot. I have never ran out of power yet, and that the great thing about this tractor, it seems to be well engineered / balanced: horse power to weight ratio, and lift / pull capiblities. It just works as intended. Lastly, unless you really need the small version of tractor like i did, all the others are a matter of strenghts / weakness between the Kubuta / JD / NH / whichever. All are great machines!!! Find a dealer you can believe and trust. I did, and it makes the real difference, they always stop and talk to me everytime i have called with a question no matter what it is.

Strengths Ease

Weaknesses Overheats easily with the 54mmm when running for 1/2hour. Install/removal of the 54mmm.

Overall Good tractor, easy to use.

Strengths great machine so far 10hrs great unit i scrape my road,plenty of power,bush hog 8yrs growth with no problem if you can run over it 1t will cut it,compact size makes goin out of trees like a4 wheeler great for making trails or tite spaces,mows 3+ acres no problem.

Weaknesses did not buy bumper or weights.both are a must.i built mine.make sure the bottom of the bumper is lower than the power steering,running over trees ,i rubed holes in my boots i caught it now i"ll have to fix it.be careful with flashers and vines ect.they will pop off ,they need to be on inside.

Overall this is agreat tractor, all things wrong are mostly my falt as i am rough but i take care of it.
