Strengths 22 of the meanest ponies I have seen. Bought new now have 600hrs and this tractor has worked. 60" mower is great The FEL is ideal for mucking out barns My next door farm now asks me to clean out there 3 barns I use a 48" tiller with ease. The single bottom plow is the only attachment that will put a strain on the engine but have plowed a 5 acre corn field no problem. The post hole unit is ok but I do not have down force and requires a second person and digging bar to add weight. ground in south central PA is clay and rock.My 55gal 3pt sprayer required that the foam marker tubes be shortened due to low ground height but works like a charm. No problem with 3pt pto broadcast spreader. Also works with my Burch 2 row corn planter. Snow blade kit is great clears our 1/3 mile drive lane in 20 min. Do wish I had a cab for it in the winter. Run a middle buster fine had to make a short top link for that again due to low tractor height. Made a 3pt trailer hitch frame and pulls up to a 16' tandem axel trailer loaded with no problem. As you can guess I run a small farmett dairy operation and have all the toys for this machine. Can not wait to see how the Star round bailer will work on baling 2.5 acres of hay soon. Sips fuel most times can run 7hrs wide open on 1 tank except for bottom plowing then used 1.5 tanks in 5 hours.

Weaknesses Dam hood mine had to be replaced within a month after I purchased and touchy to close. Lights on front with FEL are so so. Had a bolt on steering rack fall out and I have bent the left 3pt adjustment rod twice. All minor stuff

Overall This tractor out performs the green ones hands down It has done the work of a machine twice its power. Easy to operate reliable and super strong with compact size. Its a little tractor that thinks its a big one. Like I say the reason there green is so they can hide in the tall grass when the real tractors come bye. But then I do have a JD 450C crawler loader so they all aint bad just the tractors. Kubota will kick A?? Nothing but orange

Strengths Very impressive especially for its size. Plenty of power. Turning radius is good. A real workhorse.

Weaknesses Just like everyone else: park brake needs some sort of warning system, headlights useless with FEL, and air filter bracket cracks.

Overall Glad I bought it and not something else.

Strengths Powerful!! Plenty of power to handle even the largest jobs!! Cuts the lawn nicely. Mows uneven and steep grade terrain with ease. Everything built Super - Heavy Duty!! Best Tractor I've ever owned.

Weaknesses Headlights worthless with FEL, though this is not too much of a problem, I had the dealer add two Aux. Lights on each side of my Rops bar and this provides plenty of light for working at night. Hood rattles and the latch could have been designed a little better.

Overall A really nice Estate tractor. Will handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. I recommend having the lights added on the rops and the rear tires filled with Rim Guard if you are going to be using the FEL frequently. All in all, I do not believe you will find a nicer sub-compact tractor on the market.

Strengths Have had the tractor for a full winter. It moved a lot of snow. The turf tires worked great on both paved and unpaved driveways, the 4wd is great. It started well in the coldest weather.I am very pleased. We have an acre and a half and my wife is into flower gardens in a big way and the 2230 is ideal for needs.

Weaknesses A parking brake warning light would be nice and the headlights are pretty much useless with the loader.

Overall The tractor has been trouble free thus far.

Strengths Compact size, versatility, rear pto power. The pto powered bagger ia amazing. It will not clog in 9" tall wet grass! It sucks up walnuts off the lawn if you're not careful. FEL is handy for bark, dirt and gravel jobs. I love the power steering, so nice for everyday jobs. Hydraulic lift on mower deck is a great feature, as is the blade height select-a-dial. You can even lock the mower in its highest position for loader work, etc, without having to remove the mower. Hydrostatic transmission is excellent, love the two-way pedal for quick changes in direction. With the differential lock pedal depressed YOU CANNOT GET STUCK WITH THIS TRACTOR (with bar tires). Post hole digger will dig through hard-pan or clay, 30" deep no problem (Rankin PHD 200 model).Box blade works excellent for grading soil or cutting sod. The Bx2230 starts perfect every time, even in cold weather (works best at 1/2 throttle). Be sure to let the tractor warm up for 10 min. in the winter, because a cold tractor will keep moving, even after the speed pedal is released.

Weaknesses The only major flaw in the tractor is the seatbelt. I have th '05 model, and the seatbelt is attached to the tractor frame. Every bump it goes over tightens the seatbelt a little more, so the belt is virtually unusable. The new models have a seatbelt attached to the seat, so this isn't a problem. One handy thing with the frame-mounted belts--- you can fasten the seat down with them, which overrides the operator presence switch so you can stand up for better visibility when doing detailed FEL work. Also, the factory lower link pins fell off once.

Overall Overall, this is an excellent tractor that will far exceed your expectations. It isn't a huge tractor. It's just a super-handy do-it all tractor that can lift about 700 lbs. with ease (with bax blade as counter-weight). Go get one now! Promise the wife new furniture!

Strengths Test drove . . . runs smooth and 4-wheel drive has plenty of power pulling up fairly steep hills. Hold hill well when mowing along same grade on hill. I'm concerned no body has review use of this tractor with a back hoe. Is there some problem with that (mounting, fit, etc.)?

Weaknesses Not sure yet. Paint on the machine was not as faded as paint on plastic hood of BX2350 that had been out on lot roughly half the time.

Overall

Strengths Powerful and Smooth. I bought this machine used at (21 hours) and now have 120 hours. Cuts wet New England grass with ease and allowed me to move and level 150 cubic yards of clean fill with ease. Backhoe is easy to use and sufficient for everything I can throw at it.

Weaknesses Paint really fades fast even with many coats of Meguiars Cleaner wax. Hood pops open every once in a while when traversing rough terrain (makes it tough to see where you're going) NO Tachometer; I hate idiot lights.

Overall Great Machine! I researched before buying and it came down to New Holland, John Deere and Kubota. I don't regret my choice for a minute. All weaknesses are minor. The only reason I'll part with this tractor is to buy the next one. Best chuckle I had was pulling my neighbour's 30 hp New Holland out of the ditch.

Strengths fuel economy, digging power with backhoe and loader. cuts grass like crazy. can do more than you ever thought possible with a machine of this size. even mowes with the backhoe on

Strengths I have only used the BX2230 for snow removal thus far. The bucket is excellent ant the 4 way control lever is well designed. The blower capability is adequate. Great turning radius with the power steering and the four wheel drive with turf tire has worked well.

Weaknesses I have only had the tractora month and have not really experienced any problems.

Overall The tractor had 54 hours on it when I purchased it. I am pleased thus far. The full winter will be the real test.

Strengths Very powerful small deisel,easy to operate,plenty of power to do jobs it is designed to do.Sips fuel compaired to the John Deere 455 whos place it took,good ground speed.

Weaknesses Bagger is a pain to put on 3 point by yourself,had seal leak and lost gear box on deck at 75 hours,BUT dealer had it fixed in two days.

Overall Very good small tractor for the money i expect it to be around for a long time,have had another Kubota for 23 trouble free years
