Years of Use : New Owner (0-1 Year)
Implements : Loader, Bakhoe and Tiller
Purchased From : Dirt & Turf - Sharpsville, IN
Strengths The entire package (tractor, loader, backhoe and tiller) is very strong and very high quality equipment. The hydraulics on this tractor are unbelievably. I have used it to move tree's, gravel and dirt and it never missed a beat. The attachments are incredible in how they perform. The implements are very easy to remove and install. I have worked this thing hard since I have had it and it repsonds every time.
Weaknesses It is nothing major but there is a lot of plastic body parts on the tractor which should be steel. Most all of the other compact tractor manufacturers are the same so I can understand why Kubota does it.
Overall I looked at Cubs, Deere's, Massey's, New Holland's and many other manufacturers and I am glad that I bought the Kubota. If you are looking at this kind of tractor I would strongly recommend going with a Kubota. I have a friend that owns a Cub dealership and another friend that works for John Deere and they both told me after I looked at their products to by a Kubota!

Implements : Loader, Backhoe, 60 inch belly mower
Purchased From : Gateway Tractor Upper Marlboro, Md.
Strengths Very versatile. Easy to operate. High quality. Powerful for its size. Very comfortable and with power steering and the hydrostatic transmission it is a dream to use.
Weaknesses Being used to a B5200 which I bought new and have owned for 22 years, the BX24 tractor has a lot of plastic where the B5200 has steel. But today's tractors from all manufacturers are built this way.
Overall The loader and backhoe designed for the tractor make this a great tool. It is quiet and has tremendous power for its size. Once you get the hang of it the hydrostatic transmission is quite a wonderful improvemet over the manual 2 range 6 speed manual transmission I was used to. Belly mower is doing well where I used to use a rear PTO bush hog on the B5200 and it cuts the lawn like a lawn tractor. I have only used it for one day but I have mowed a field, removed a lot of dirt and have levelled steep drops into my barn that had eroded over the past 10-15 years and removed cut logs from fallen trees that I really did not want to pick up manually. Love my old B5200, but this tractor is far superior. If it is as reliable as the B5200 over the next 2 decades it will have been money well spent.
Just a hint, forget about the reverse pedal, just use the forward pedal by pulling up on it to go in reverse, it is much easier to operate the tractor that way.

Implements : LBH, 60in. mower, grass catcher
Purchased From : Local Dealer
Strengths Great reputation and good resale value when I get too old to make use of it. Small enough for yard work. Heavy duty enough for limited commercial trenching.
Weaknesses BX24 is shipped to dealers without bachhoe dipper bucket. Buyer to select between 8 & 12in. Unfortunately, no dealer in eastern or central NC has one in stock. No Just-in-Time delivery from Kubota. A week later I am still waiting for delivery because dealer can't get the bucket. Contacted Kubota Customer Support. No response 4 days later. Not a good start.
Overall I guess we will have to wait and wait and and see.

Purchased From : Kahn tractor , franklin CT.
Strengths Picked it up last year for my property improvement biz,got sick of the renting. This machine is 100 times faster than a shovel.Tight spaces are not a problem. This thing has plenty of power and it never gets stuck (ind. tires).Stay within its limits and it can make short work of any drainage, trenching, loading or digging jobs.Saved My back a bunch of times.Great on fuel.
Weaknesses It does have a few minor problems. The tach/hour meter went south. Has the crack in the fender by the floor. It did have a leak on the back control valve that I took care of and yes the lights did act up,I also took care of that.As for the first two issues I think kubota will replace those. Like I said these where minor and being a newer modle I kubota will straighten them out in the future,No reason not to purchase.Brake is a little weird.
Overall I think its a great machine,ROCK SOLID little rig. Does the work of 5 guys in half the time.

Strengths Powerful enough for gravel an durt work. The BH is a great tool for stump removal, trench etc.... Yet small enough to work almost anywhere
Great fuel economy, good turning radius.
Very easy to use.
Superb customer service.
Weaknesses Within the first 200 hours, I have had issues with hyd leak on the BH, Ignition key barrel failed and a crack at the junction of the main platform and the fender developped on the right side.
All of these issues were taking care of very quickly by the dealer at no cost to me.
Overall Really, having a lot of fun,

Implements : Rear blade, rake, front power angle plow. (mower soon)
Purchased From : Leahy Equipment
Strengths All the power I need for almost every job I need to do.
Moved over 60 tons of bank run, gravel, stone and loam. Removed stumps, dug trenches, moved trailers, hauled logs and more before hitting 50 hr. service. Easy operation of BH and FEL made all tasks easy and fun.
At my age this machine was like a new lease on life.
Weaknesses Minor hydrolic leak that the dealer repaired, had a tire go soft and it was a little too small for some of the bolders I needed to move. Other than that the only complaint comes from the Mrs. that had to drag my considderable presence off of it.
Overall Great lil machine, very glad to have purchased it.

Implements : backhoe/loader
Purchased From : elliot equipment easton md
Strengths Let me start by saying I have opperated many larger units such as loaders, skid steers, excavators and the like. This unit is powered just right for its size, wich makes it efficient on fuel and a joy to opperate.
Weaknesses The overall fit and finish is so good I hate to get it dirty! ps: the fender problem happend to this unit as the dealer was getting on the machine to deliver it, the Kubota rep happend to be there when this occured and approved repair at no cost to me.( kubota also agreed to the retrofit for the remaining Bx 24's on the lot at no cost to the dealer)
Overall I purchased this unit for home use. I have a wet location because of clay and needed drainage, also tree stumps removed. Because of opperating all different types of machinery I was able to decide easily what I was looking for in a versital unit. This had every thing I was looking for, hydrostatic drive(skid steer), loader bucket (that could fill its size without bogging down), backhoe with enough power to tackle any job. If you research you will find that the closest to this price is a very used and abused construction unit that you cant change impliments on, or let's say a used tractor( 2500), aftermarket loader(3000), aftermarket backhoe (6000) total, 11500 for a unit that lookes bad and may not work together well. Another consideration is resale value, these units are very desirable and have an expanding market.

Implements : 60" mower
Purchased From : Lamont, AB, CANADA
Strengths Easy to use. Hoe has lots of power. Very good on fuel. Tight turning radius. The list goes on and on.
Weaknesses Loader joystick sticks a little. (I'm a fresh user, maybe its me.) The 60" mower is a bear to get on and off. (I'd go with the smaller mower.)
Overall FYI: Price is in Canadian. In US its $19,500. (Taxes are brutal in the Great White North. Free health care???)
First off, I'm a city boy who moved out to 6 acres 7 years ago. I should've bought this years ago. I don't know what I'd do without it now! I used to own a small JD lawn tractor until July 2006.
The hoe was more of a toy for me. My first experience was to dig out an 8" caliper birch stump. I figured this project would take me an hour. My first try, I fumbled with the controls, it snapped all the roots and popped it out like butter.
The loader I use all the time for piling snow, carrying heavy stuff, taking out the garbage (long driveway) & moving gravel. If you have an acreage this is SOOO handy. I use it for everything now.
The other use I've found for the Kubota is pulling cars and trucks out of the ditch. I can't believe the power, even with turf tires. The other day (-35F) I put it in 4WD and sucked a Honda Accord out of the ditch like it was nothing.
All in all, I researched this tractor 6 ways to Sunday. I was reluctant about the price and the fact its a diesel (didn't want 2 stroke fuel, gas and diesel). I was cautious about the size of tractor too. I looked at every tractor including India built units. I wouldn't hestitate for a second to buy a Kubota.

Years of Use : 2+ Years
Implements : TLB
Purchased From : Cascade Farm Machinery
Strengths Now listen closely. I have been an excavation contractor doing commercial and residential site work for many years. I have 1000's of hours on full size TLB's Dozers and Excavators. So why did I choose this little toy? It's cute! Actually there's more to it. When I was looking for a good utility tractor to use around the home and on some personal construction projects I purposely went looking for a sub compact. Most people think they will need something bigger only to find out that it only saved them a little time and now takes a lot of room to store in the shed. Actually, you will save more time on any job by using your noggin, not your hydraulics. This little tractor does not appear like much but here's the lowdown. The poer to weight ratio is supurb. the traction for usable power makes for efficient and potent use of the available size. Have you ever had an old heavy truck with an underpowered engine in it? What about a light pickup with a powerful V8? This tractor has some marvelous engineering integrated into every system. It's fast and nimble and leaves little track damage to have to hand finish later. The backhoe was amazing to me. After running full size units for years this was the ONLY compact that had hydraulics that felt good. Good enough that a new user could get confident right quick. It also has enough hoe power to lift, roll and reset the machine. Once you learn this technique, you will rarely have to get off and turn the seat around to move the TLB forward. You can trench all day and stay in the seat facing the hoe. This is how the big boys run the real machines. In order to keep a straight trench a machine must be able to lift and reset position under the hoe power. This little jewel does a right fine job of that. It digs firm and precise with great feel. The machine is not underpowered at all. And it needs no more power than it was designed for. A testament to good engineering. For those who think different, you should spend some time on the real s
Weaknesses I'm not sure it qualifies as one but the cycle times on the hoe are a bit too slow for me. Actually if they were as fast as what I am used to the common user may get into some trouble with it. The radiator/dust screen cover is a little on the flimsy side but not something I can't live with.
Overall Smooth and predictable hydraulics. Just the right power to weight ratio. Great control feel and locations. R4 Tires!!!! Plenty of leg room on the platform. Wow...Just a jewel. And it's a cutie!!

Implements : Bucket, Back Hoe
Purchased From : Pine Bush Equipment, NY
Strengths Nice machine. Starts easily, although I have not used it in temps below 40 degrees. Very easy to use and maneuver once you get used to pedal configuration.
Weaknesses Backhoe seems a little underpowered at times. Bucket could use teeth to help with loading large objects. Having to dismount and flip seat to move machine when you need to reposition backhoe is annoying. ROPS is to high to enter garage without folding it down.
Overall I am happy with the machine, considering that I was doing much of the work by hand or with rental equipment. In hind sight I probably should have bought a machine with a little more power. Be sure to get multiple quotes before buying, I saved close to $1500.00 by shopping around. Came back to the first dealer I visited but only after I had better info to bargin with.
