Implements : BH - FEL - 4' Box - 5' Rear Blade - 6 1/2' Meyer Snow Plow
Purchased From : MacAllister Machinery Co - Indianapolis
Strengths Good power. This machine has the strength to get things done (not as fast as a bigger tractor - but exponentially faster than doing it by hand). At the end of the day, my old bones don't ache even though I got a boat load of work done. While a larger machine would be nice for larger projects, this machine will get it done without taking up a ton of garage space. It does not tear up the yard and can squeeze into some tight spots. The BH and FEL come off and go back on quick and easy.
Weaknesses An oil cooler would be nice. When pushing the machine pretty hard (lots of loading and scooping with the FEL in 90 degree heat), after a while, the hydraulic rams would give you a pretty good burn if you were to bump them. This is not a big surprise and would be fairly simple to rectify with some creativity. I wish the ROPS was a couple of inches lower so I would not have to fold it down to fit it into a standard 7' garage. I did get some leaks in the fittings when the hydraulic fluid got pretty hot, but nothing a couple of wrenches and some teflon tape didn't fix. One annoying thing when digging trenches with the backhoe, you either have to use the BH to lift up the ass end and push the machine forward, or hold down the safety button (exposed when you flip the seat to use the BH) and lean way down to "creep" the machine forward with the foot pedal. The BH has the power so it is not that big of a deal. As mentioned before, the brake pedal is on the wrong side but what are you gonna do. I do with the BH had a 180 degree swing instead of what it has.
Overall I would recomend getting the tooth bar for the front bucket. It makes tipping things into the bucket much easier and really helps with loading and moving materials. I also picked up a 6 1/2 foot Meyer plow on eBay for $100 and with a little welding to modify the mount, I now have a plow that moves up and down, left and right with the loader handle. If you are going to be doing serious scraping and digging with a box blade, go with the 4 footer. If you are going to be spreading and smoothing driveways etc, I would opt for the 5' box. I him'd and haw'd about this because it is a lot of money, but you only live once and I expect to enjoy this much longer (and get more work out of it) than other things like new cars. I have not regretted the decision once in the 10 months I have had it.

Strengths Good little machine. Ex-heavy equip. operator. Didn't expect as much as the BX delivers. Have a little over 100 hours on the machine. Serious landscaping work on my hilly lot. Moved lots of dirt. Filled with 10 tandem loads hauled in from the street. Plenty of power in low range. Digs stumps, hauls rock, works great. Cut terraces and built brick walks and patio. Don't use the wheelbarrow anymore. Wife even uses the BX to haul mulch. 19 year-old son asked " Dad, how did we ever get by without his thing? Its like a video game where something actually happens!"
Have Turf tires. Originally concerned that traction would be a problem but really didn't want the R-4 tires. With the 4wd and dif lock I haven't had a problem on even slick, muddy clay.
Excellent fuel economy if you back the throttle off a little. I really like the removeable teeth on the backhoe. This is really useful doing finish work on slopes and drainage swales and ditches.
Weaknesses Backhoe hydraulics are a little out of balance. Probably needs slightly larger hoses on the boom cylinder. Makes cutting a smooth bottom ditch difficult at full throttle. Needs a higher gear for moving around the road. Lots of lights but 8 mph is too slow! Flip around seat not particularly well executed. Mower deck ridiculously hard to mount. Ldr and Bh can be taken off or installed in less than 2 min each, the mower takes 20 min. to install. As long as Kubota has been making mowers you'd think they could come up with something here! Probably not much / any worse than the competition though. Still, I'm doing my mowing with my 36 year old Cub Cadet so I don't have to go through the mower mounting fiasco. I'll put the mower on when I get my major landscaping completed and can leave the Bh off for a while.
Overall Impressive little machine. Lots of power, mows well, good load carrying capacity, manueverable. BH and FEL both work well.
Don't buy without the grille guard! The sloped front makes it difficult to know exactly where the front is when loading a trailer, etc. The grille guard WILL save your grille sooner or later. Besides its a neat laser cut part that can be paint retouched easily. No maintenance issues, leaks or malfunctions yet.

Strengths Really strong tractor for its size, love its power, ease of use, turning radius. Got 0% for 36mo financing. Can't beat that. Although it seemed a little crazy to spend that kind of money on a piece of yard equipment, I have to say I'd do it again all over again. It's a well engineered and thought-out machine. What a time and back saver!
Weaknesses The seat locking mechanism when you rotate back to the backhoe can be a little cumbersome and will let go if you haven't hit it down hard enough.

Implements : Fixed BH Thumb
Purchased From : Scholten's Equipment, WA
Strengths I've had the machine for just one week but am very impressed with it. Power and capacity are more than expected and the controls are realatively intuitive FEL effortlessly handles full loads of gravel for pothole repairs and makes moving split firewood a lot easier on the back. I'm still clumsy with the BH but have dug out and moved large rocks without difficulty. The thumb the dealer installed is very useful for handling rocks and logs for bucking.
Weaknesses I agree that the floor deck is a bit flimsy and can't figure out what the designer was thinking when he or she put the brake pedal where it is. The readout on the tachometer is tiny and difficult to read in anything less than full sun. Have to learn to gently stop in reverse, especially in high range. If the reverse pedal is released too quickly, the front tires lift off the ground. This may result in some part from the weighted rear tires. Other than these minor issues, no problems yet.
Overall I too was worried about the size, weight and power of the BX 24 but those have proven to be non-issues. Although the machine is certainly pricey, it does a lot of work for the buck and is significantly less expensive than the bigger boys.

Implements : York Rake, so far...
Purchased From :
Strengths Just had this a couple of weeks. So far, it has moved firewood, leveled a truck load of shale for a shed, repaired a washed out gravel driveway, dug stumps and raked a section of a recently bulldozed lot. The loader is super. Turning radius lets it ge5t into tight spots between the trees. The backhoe has done stumps that surprised me, although it took some patience with some of them. Overall, this looks to be a good tool for keeping/improveng my 18 acre lot for use with my camper, and ongoing clearing and preparation for building someday. Fuel use has been modest so far, and it is comfortable to use. Overall, first impressions have dispelled the buyer's remorse at parting with a fair piece of change to buy this critter.
Weaknesses Can't say that I've been overly impressed with the initial condition of the tractor on receipt from the dealer. After the first two hours, apparently a clip under the seat came loose (or wasn't there in the first place) and a fuel line got nicked by the fan under the seat, spraying diesel to where I could not use it until repaired. That was ok, though, because a line in the hydraulics in the backhow was leaking by then as well. Dealer addressed the fuel line, and said that the leak was fixed. Not so, and its back now for further repair to the backhoe after a total of 10 _/- hours. Not the most confidence inspiring, although the dealer has not balked at all about going forward to make things right. Also, the floor board on the left side, where it meets the rear fender at the base of the seat, just where one almost has to stand to turn the seat around for using the back hoe, and where one naturally steps to get on and off, cracked when I stepped off the tractor. The dealer has contacted Kubota, who advised that they are aware that this machine has a problem in this regard, and they are working on a fix. If you have a similar experience do not hesitate to insist that the dealer contact Kubota and make sure that when a factory approved fix comes out, you get it done at no charge to you. I don't know when such a fix is expected, but I have it on record at my dealer that when Kubota decides on a remedy that they'ss stand behind, mine will get done. A shame that this otherwise fine unit has such an obvious design/materilas flaw.
Overall Initial minor difficulties aside, I am very impressed with the power and versatility of this machine. I have not owned a tractor before, and like many others who posted here, wondered how much was enough and how much too much for what I need. I think that for mu use, clearing second growth stumps, gravel road and drainage upkeep, moving dirt/gravel, leveling and so on, this is just the ticket. I look forward to finding new uses as time goes on.

Strengths I have had this tractor for about 3 months now and I love it. I have moved dirt and rocks, leveled high spots, smoothed out my driveway with the loader and it handled the job with ease. As for the backhoe I have dug ditches, tree stumps small ponds and countless other things with it. The backhoe is also handy if and when you get stuck.
Weaknesses I wish AG. tires were an option. I bought mine with the R4 Industrial tires, they work good but the tend to fill up with mud pretty quick. There is also a small fan under the tractor I assume to cool the rearend, 'bout 2wks after getting the tractor a stick came up and wiped out all the fins. Aside from these two things I have no complaints.
Overall Overall I think it is a great tractor. Its small size lets me get into tight areas, and it has plenty of power for my use.

Implements : Backhoe, FEL, 48" Rough Cut Mower
Purchased From : Equipment Unlimited, Yakima WA
Strengths This tractor is powerful, compact, and nicely designed. The LOC (low center of gravity) is perfect for my property. I was worried it wouldn't have enough power, but I am worried no more, this thing can really push dirt.
My dealer sold me a 48" rough cut mower for my field as my grass was over 3 1/2 feet tall. No need, this thing could easily run a 5' or probably even a 6' mower on it. I think it even tried to bog down 2 times and it was in very tall and very wet grass.
Pulled a lunker of a rock out of the field and hauled it to a friends pickup and dropped it off. Dug out my firepit. Mowed about 3 acres of tall grass, and this is the first day I have driven a tractor in 15 years, that is how easy this thing is to use.
Weaknesses FEL can block the headlights.
Overall Overall I am very pleased with this tractor. I went down to the dealer to purchase the B7800 and walked away happy as a clam with the BX24. Sure it is a bit smaller and has about 7 less HP, but that just means I have to be a bit more patient. To save $7,000 (how much a backhoe for the B7800 would have cost) it is worth it.

Implements : loader/backhoe
Purchased From : farm equipment headquarters, Pendleton, Oregon
Strengths Good power, easy to operate and the quick detach loader and hoe are great!I also bought a back blade and it handles it without any problem and the 1/4in. valve on the 3 point is great for fine work and fethering out graval!
Weaknesses The brake peddle is in the wrong place! The way it is,it can be unsafe and dangerous! It need a left food brake and a hand operated brake lock! Also, there is no support on the outer rear floor boards and mine has boken the right front bottom of the rear finder!. I'm going to build my own brackits to support them!
Overall So far its been a great little tractor and has moved a lot of dirt and graval with the loader! Also have dug about 700ft of water/sewer ditch and it worked great!
