Implements : Wood's RD 6000 finish mower
Purchased From : Sterling Farm Equipment
Strengths overall ease of handling, fit finish, metal hood and fenders, extremely fuel effecient,I use six tenths of a gallon and hour finish mowing or brush hogging on average.well spaced and comfortable operators platform.the tractor responds to me,not me to the tractor
Weaknesses the only weakness I have found is how quickly and easily I complete my chores.one of lifes great pleasures for me is to be seated on a fine piece of equipment, sometimes I truly just get finished to fast.a toolbox would have been nice, watch out for the 50 hour service it can be a bit pricey,$689.00 for me by the dealer with pick up and delivery. you might want to negotiate this up front.
Overall If anything happened to my Kubota today,I would have another one tommorow.I looked at green, blue and red.Kubota by far offered the features, value and financing that were important to me.I often sit in a chair in the tractor shed with a cup of coffee and look at our new tractor. I sometimes still find it hard to believe that it's our's.I traded my two older tractors that had seen thier better day's.Both were my dad's,one he had bought brand new 30 years ago.as hard as it was to let them go,I know up in heaven he's happy for all of us.

Purchased From : Middlesex Kubota
Strengths In 2006 I bought a L3400HST4x4 replace the B7200HST4x4 I bought in 1986 and used aggressively in my landscape/ irrigation business all those years. My Dad is now using it in his landscape business and he loves it! Why did I buy another Kubota? Because you CAN’T kill them if you know how to run them! This tractor is a bigger stronger version of my small one, so I jelled right in to using it. However, this tractor has amazing strength! Kubota Corp. needs to close their ears for a moment; For a year I did tree work and used it every week to load 24” caliper 20’ long trunks into my roll off dump trailer. And the loader, hydraulics, and mounts held up just fine…and this extreme weight is not even considering the heavy weight of the 4&1 bucket on the loader! I must warn you not to try this if you’re an inexperienced operator because this can and will kill you if you don’t know what you’re doing! But the point is, this tractor is extremely scary strong! I like the compact part of this tractor, (you can get in tight areas) and with the HST transmission, you can work very close to objects with the loader and rear implements. By the way, I would never buy a tractor (considering my needs) without 4x4 and HST. I know with these features and my seat time, I could out work anyone with shuttle shift or straight shift. But if you’re pulling HEAVY loads often, I don’t think it’s good on the HST to load it up like that, so you would need to buy one with gears. I also have always run turf tires, which are usually good unless it’s muddy ground. I believe the ultimate machine would be this one with a set of rubber tracks for muddy jobs or wet turf, but I can’t justify the $18,000.00 for a set of them!
Weaknesses The weaknesses of the L3400 is no doubt the PTO “over-run feature” (Design flaw) which causes your PTO to stop working at the most inconvenient time. After my new tractor has been broken in half twice by the dealer, they supposedly have fixed the internal problem with a new “Upgraded” part. I also have broken the PTO engaging cable a couple times. Other issues have been the breakage of the plastic fuel filter on the side by a stick (total replacement needed); the shattering of the hydraulic sight glass (simple screw in - but carry a spare due to all the fluid will slosh out); replacement of the headlight due to not a good enough front guard (expensive part); foot petal for HST sticks and needs constant lubrication; Foot step is wonderful for my old bones to get up on the platform, however it needs to be made out of thicker metal so it won’t bend when it debris hits it (mine has bent twice); Front steering rods are exposed and bend pretty easy if your tire hits something or if something hits them (bad design, but much better than the B7200!); 3 point hitch tightening buckles are a hassle to tighten and loosen; Have a problem with 3 point hitch lever binding hydraulics in the up position; Seat is a little weak for a 6’ 260 lb. bulk like me; Front turf tires wear out pretty quickly; Headlight switch got brittle and fell apart; No storage box, but great cup holder! I’m sure some of this breakage is due to working a lot in wooded areas, but I’ve decided to keep my tractor even though a guy in Pa. offered me premium $ for it – I LOVE MY TRACTOR & my WV hillbilly wife thinks it’s y!!
Overall I’m sold on Kubota – you CAN’T kill them if you know how to run them! Spend the extra $ and buy a 4x4, you won’t be sorry…also a HST transmission (if you don’t always pull trees up mountains!) Most of all, don’t buy green, yellow, red or blue – buy ORANGE KUBOTA brand and it will last you for the rest of your life!

Strengths HST is outstanding. I was unsure about getting an HST but 2 hours on the tractor made a believer out of me.
Great power and still compact enough to work close the house.
Weaknesses I had backlight installed and there is no tool box. Dealer said that there will be an option very shortly to install a tool box. The slowest speed of the HST is still pretty fast, for some work that I do.
Overall Great tractor love the size to power ratio.

Strengths Tractor has good power throughout its rpm range, 3 point hitch lift capacity is good. Manual shift with ag tires is great for traction in the woods with 18 inches of snow. I have pulled some rediculous loads of logs out of the woods with this tractor and it did really well. Best of all uses very little fuel. Traded a 1 year old B7800 for this tractor because I was killing it in the woods pulling logs, hst has no buisness pulling heavy loads or being steered with the brakes because the front end is off the ground pulling logs. Also starts great in cold weather.
Weaknesses Haven't found any weaknesses yet.
Overall Great tractor for the money, If you need all the power the tractor can give get get the gear drive and ag tires.

Weaknesses 3 Point hitch - nothing fits without ioncredible amount of hassle and always requires 2 persons. jerky hydraulics, dealer wants $400 to upgrade despite supposed recall, No tool box (duh)
Overall I would buy another Kubota only if they improve the 3 point systems - my neighbours have Ford and JD - and believe me, we all have a struggle with the Kubota (all ancillary equipment purchased (to guarantee compatability) from Kubota

Strengths It is amazing what this little tractor will do. I got the manual transmission model with 8 forward and 4 reverse gears. The 34.7 hp 3 cylinder diesel is a perfect match for the tractor.
Weaknesses There are four things that could be improved.
First there is no tool box. This seems like an oversight.
Second, you have to come to a complete stop to shift it. I did not want the hydrostatic transmission as it wastes too much power, but a true shuttle shift would be nice. Kubota calls this a shuttle shift, but it is not as you have to stop to shift it. A true shuttle shift would add to the price though and the price was very reasonable, especially with the 0% down and 0% interest for 3 years.
Third, the fuel filter is a flimsy plastic unit that is exposed to branches etc. I knocked it loose twice, so that it leaked, in the first 40 hours. I made a guard for it. Pictures at http://www.speednetllc.com/kensworld/ProductReviews.htm.
Forth, the front guard is narrower than the tractor, especially at the bottom. I pushed a stick through the lower front of the tractor. It is a soft plastic that is not as strong as it should be. I welded a heavy pipe 26" long to the bottom of the front guard to help protect the front of the tractor.
The 34.7 hp 3 cylinder diesel is a perfect match for the tractor. I usual keep it in 3 rd gear and use the hi lo reverse shifter by the left fender. It is quite handy. It has enough power to use a higher gear and use the throttle to very its speed. In 3rd gear, low range, I can put the tractor at high idle in 4 wheel drive and it will not stall out, it just spins. This is very handy for digging out stumps or getting a bucket of dirt out of a pile. As you can see there is really no need for a hydrostatic transmission when you can do this. I would recommend this tractor to anyone. My brother had a 24 hp B series tractor and he had to keep the motor wide open and very the speed with the hydrostatic transmission. It was very noise keeping it revving all the time. He traded it in for a new B3030 with 30 hp. He likes it much better.
I did look and Kyoty and Branson tractors. They had a true shuttle tra

I would recommend this tractor to anyone. I did look and Kyoty and Branson tractors. They had a true shuttle transmission, but were heaver and only had 30 and 29 hp. Since I plan on tailoring this tractor to Missouri, I wanted the lightest tractor with the most horse power. You can always add weight. Plus you can't go wrong with the Kubota name. I know I made the right decision.

Strengths Have yet to find something it can not due. If you looking pay a little extra and get the 4wheel drive!!! Can not tell you how many times i would have been stuck without it.
Use it to mow, move the dirt around, cut a walking path with the bod blade and never been unhappy with it.
Weaknesses Gets stuck easy even on flat ground. $ wheel drive is a must and am so glad i got it.
Overall Great little tractor. If you on the bubble between this model and anyother brand you would be happy you chose the Kabota L3400.

Implements : bh75 backhoe, LA463 FEL ,HST, loaded tires,
Purchased From : AJ's in Mansfield PA
Strengths I was really up in the air between the 3400 and the 3240 even losing sleep over it. I decided on the 3400 for both price and size difference.(I own mostly woods 12 acres and 8 acres of field) I was really worried that it would be too light for pulling logs and FEL work. This tractor is a work horse, I have done some amazing things with this tractor and I haven't found anything yet that it cant do. and I don't miss any of the features that the 3240 offered, except maybe the quick attach loader. I pulled a 30in by 25ft log
up a steep hill with no problems. Very glad I went HST its very precise, powerful, and makes it easy for you to focus on the task at hand.
Weaknesses No tool box is a pain, but no reason to not buy a great tractor. My dealer said I can buy Kubota paint from him so I think I will buy a toolbox, paint it and attach it behind the seat. BH75 is cramped to use for me (6ft 175)and make sure to get a big and small bucket for it, digging a big hole takes a long time with small bucket.
Overall Over all if I could go through the hours of reading reviews and shopping around I would make the exact same purchase again. My L3400 knows how to get any job done. and is the perfect size for using in the woods or around the house, the price is unbeatable from where I am from. I wouldn't want a bigger tractor unless, I was surrounded by fields and money wasn't an option. The backhoe is nice, but for the extra 7200, I might look around for a used one, or even a small used excavator can probably find one around 10000 and I think if you plan on using it a lot you might be happier with a whole seprate unit. If you do think you want the BH75 just make sure to ask the dealer if you can try one first, or even just sit on one so you know what you are getting before you drop the extra money. Don't get me wrong its a good backhoe, just really cramped when using it. If you are considering this vs a Grand L I know they look nicer at the dealership, but trust me the bells and whistles are not missed once you get it home, and it doesn't look like a small tractor when its not parked next to a Grand L. I don't want to sway anyone from buying the tractor that is right for them, I researched the heck out of both tractors and am extremely happy with L3400 no regrets, and with the money I saved I am going to buy a brush-hog, pallet forks and a back blade. PS the dealer welded a couple of chain hooks on my bucket for no charge, glad he did I use them all the time.

Implements : 5 ft bush hog, 5 ft box blade, 5 ft set of disks, one row cultivator, kubota loader, etc.
Purchased From : Carter Trator Monroeville Al
Strengths Tractor is very strong and loader will pick up anything the tractor's weight can handle. it sips gas i can genaral get a bout 12 to 14 hrs on six gallons of diesal. It does great pulling the disk and cultivator. So strong it has broken two older cultivators befor i converted an old six row into one row. I pulled a 50 ft lighter tree i cut down out of a bog and up a hill, it took several tries but it came out and up the hill. Also all its maintenace is easily done with the help of the manual. i now have approx 250 hrs on my 75 acres and have done all the scheduled maintinance with no problems.
Weaknesses There is an issue with storage compartments there arent any except for the cup holder. i do wish the tractor didnt have the dry transmision case. it can make some gringing noises when shifting. this can be avoided by not shifting while moving and shifting the 1-4 shifter in to neutral while moving from N to f l or r. this only occurs after the tractor has been sitting at idle in neutral.
Overall Ive operated many other tractors but this one is my fav its strong sips gas and is easy to maintain.
