Strengths Tons of power for it's weight. Engine will not bog down under load. Small package, big power. Sips fuel. Loader seems very sturdy. Extremely satisfied with it.
Weaknesses The gear ratios between forward and reverse!!! I mow in high range 2nd gear. When you put it in reverse you either have to shift to fourth or go at a super turtle pace in reverse while staying in second. And low range is really low.
Overall Great tractor for the money, will last me a long long time. I have 10 acres and it is the perfect blend of size and power. Highly recommend.

Overall The L3400 w/Woods backhoe is a great machine. I have dug over 30 stumps. The big ones take a some time but the smaller(>16'') pine stumps come right out. Its worth getting the mechanical thumb!

Implements : Woods Backhoe BH80x with thumb
Purchased From : M.B Tractor & Equipment
Strengths I Have a 2006 L3400DT-F HST that has a powerful Engine that I can push stumps and logs like a bulldozer, I dug up huge stumps that are 30" across and pulled them right out of the hole with the Woods BH80-x hoe using the thumb. I can pick up logs, rocks and brush. What a great feature that is. The Kubota is very reliable and built to last many ,many years.
Weaknesses Only thing I can think of is a tool box .

Implements : Woods 600 Brush Bull, Front Loader LA703, Backhoe BL 4690B
Purchased From : Kahn Tractor, CT
Strengths great power for small tractor. Felxible use.
Actually surprised by ability of backhoe to pull stumps/dig frozen ground. Took a little getting use to (RPM's needed, angle of bucket, overall technique to use). Havent done too much with the loader although it would have been nice to have "teeth" on loader bucket to assist in pulling up vines and brush. Sort of hard to "pick up" logs from fallen trees withj angle/shape of loader bucket too. Have yet to try the new Woods mower though. Can't wait! Overall, I LOVE my new toy but need time to get used to it. Neighbors ALREADY inquiring about willingness to "do favors" (smile).
Weaknesses No tool box or even are tomount one! (ARGGGHHH!) Seat hinge seems a little weak for a big guy. May be first (and hopefully only) thing to be replaced. Would be nice to have an electrical outlet as well - you know, like a cigarette lighter plug - to plug spot light, etc... For the backhoe, the space provided for seating as well as ease of access to same could have been thought our better. For a 200+ pound person, it's a little tough. Also, WATCH OUT when wearing barn coats or any long (beyond waist) coat/jacket. It almost always catches the backhoe controls when dismounting and could - should anyone be near - lead to a crushed foot or unintended manipulation of the outriggers.
Overall LOVE MY TRACTOR! Need MORE implements (much to wife's disatisfaction however)...

Implements : Loader, plow, harrow, cultivator, rough mower, back blade, rockrake
Purchased From : Southerntier Trailer Sales, Jamestown, NY
Strengths I traded in a 2002 L2600DT manual xmission for the L3400DT HST and switched from Ag tires to Industrial tires at the dealers suggestion.
The little ol' 2600 'the tractor that could' had left a lot to live up to. The new 3400 is proving to be all the dealer said it would be and then some. We are having a January thaw, and I went out to do a few minutes of plowing. Three hours later, I am in love with grandpa's new toy. You folks have done a great job in designing a MAJOR machine that has many considerations for a disabled vet to use and enjoy. We count on our Kubota to keep our access drive clear in the winter so we can get to medical help if needed. The Kubota will never let us down. I am betting my and my wife's lives on it and know I will not be dissappointed!!!!! Keep up the great work, and keep great Dealers like Southerntier at the forefront of your sales system!! Thank you, Dave in Russell Pa.
Weaknesses A tool box for a couple of wrenches, a few link pins, and a spare soda, would be great. The tractor is too darned pretty to bolt on the old ammo can I used on the L2600....
Overall The L2600 never failed us even in extreme sub zero weather. The drive lines in your machines are bomb AND dummy proof. I have NO doubt that the new L3400 will be just as special as the 'little tractor that could, only a bit better!!!!! I love the hst and now laugh at myself for ever having doubted it!!!! Thanks for making this old 10 acre farmhome possible!!!

Price Paid : $16,700.00
Years of Use : 1-2 Years Use
Implements : FEL, 60" bucket, pallet forks, quik-tach, remote hyd, R4's; added box blade, grapple rake, brush hog
Purchased From : Olson Equipment
Strengths All the power I could want; very maneuverable in tight spaces; easy to operate and maintain; main reason to purchase was to move logs out of the woods, load on a log trailer, load logs on my Woodmizer sawmill, move sawn lumber. Relatively small size and maneuverability were essential.
Weaknesses Had to add counterweight in rear (3-pt lift) to do any heavy front end work (barrel filled with concrete); need to be very careful when operating on slopes; forward and reverse gears could be better matched on speed.
Overall Would buy again in a minute. Great tractor. Quic-tach was the best thing the dealer talked me into; a real time-saver. 2-yr 0% financing.

Implements : La 462 FEL and Woods Model 660 finish mower
Purchased From : Lashley Tractor Sales
Strengths Having always owned Kubota tractors, I must say that dependability is it's greatest strength. It always starts, and it is one tough workhorse. The Kubota deisel engine is bullet proof.
Weaknesses If I could change one thing, I would have a simple 2 speed axle with 4-speed and reverse, like the older L245DT models. I find it very awkward shifting forward or reverse with my left hand with the range setting shifter in the center. Also, the reverse range speed is not close enough to the forward range speed. In second gear when mowing, for example, when I stop to turn around, reverse feels like creeper gear. If I shift to range 4 to speed up reverse, then I'm too fast for mowing, which makes it necessary to shift 4 times each time I have to turn around. That's stupid engineering, but then I wasn't asked for my opinion in the design phase. That is my only dissatisfaction with the tract
Overall I'd definitely buy another Kubota, but not until I can get one with a more user friendly 4 speed.
