Years of Use : 2+ Years
Implements : Belly Mower, Hydro transmission, Cab, AC, Heat
Purchased From : Equipment Superstore
Strengths Seems to be durable, no engine or transmissions problems so far. 500 hrs
Cab is nice ( I get hay fever in the fall), the AC and Heat work fine.
Weaknesses 1) Very bumpy ride unless you run it with the tires about flat, I have turf tires.
2) Although rated at 37 HP, it won’t pull as good as my 28 HP 870 Deere.
3) Has issues pulling loads up an incline, I mow with a 15’-0 batwing mower. I think the hydro transmission sucks up the power. (Has no problem on level ground)
4) If you get a belly mower you are forced to get turf tires, the rear wheels are smaller in height than what you would expect causing the tractor to ride low in the rear. At night the lights (which aren’t adjustable) shine up instead of down on the yard.
5) A word of advice. One single BB which was rumored to have glanced off a rock in the driveway can completely explode the glass door. It’s going to cost about $550.00 for the parts to fix it myself.
Overall You may be able to tell that I like John Deere better than Kubota. When I purchased the L3710 there was no Deere available with a cab. They now have a mid size with the cab option. If you can afford the price difference my advice would be to go with a John Deere. If you do decide on an L3710 you may need to add weight to save your spine from the shock that seems to be transferred directly from the rear axle. Of course if you do that you will have even more trouble getting up hills. It probably seems like I am complaining a lot, but when it comes right down to it I almost always use my Kubota to mow with instead of my 870 John Deere simply because the cab feature is so nice.
