Strengths LA854 Loader Very strong, Love the "float" option on the loader, can curl and lift at the same time, square bucket holds lots of material, 4 wheel drive is AWESOME, having the 3pt hitch cyclinders outside makes for easy maintenance if ever needed, love the adjustable 3pt hitch arms, more lifing capacity than JD4720, tilt steering, HST controls are fantastic so that you can control the quickness of stop once you let off the gas (fast stop for shoving over small trees and slow for dirt work), good ground clearance, cat 1 or 2 implements, very easy to drive and steer, SUPER QUIET at 2000 RPM so you don't fatigue from the noise, can dig well as long as the dirt is not super sticky, can put a Kubota BH-90 backhoe, or Woods BH-90X backhoe, Rear remotes. Brush hogging is a pleasure because you go forward and backward with ease and turn on a dime

Weaknesses small cup holder doesn't fit the 52 oz drink. Is light in the back when picking up very heavy items in the loader but weights or box blade would help.

Overall I obsessed and toiled over buying the L5740 vs a L5030 or JD4720. I can without a doubt say I am glad I bought the L5740 over anything out there. I sold a John Deere 4020 and some other stuff to pay for this one. More engines complicate my life so I want 1 tractor capable of anything I want to do. I plan to use it like a Swiss Army Knife. Attach backhoe, boxblade, tiller, baler, loader, dozer blade, chipper, pull disk, seeder, etc... I didn't want multiple tractors. So far I have not needed to go over 2000 rpm to do anything, 50 PTO HP will run anything I use to maintain our 45 acers. So far i have dug out the pond, pulled a massive tree to the burn pile and then used the loader to place it on top, brushing is so simple, cleaned up mass quanities of sticks (piled bucket high and dump... repeat), pulled up brush roots and all with ease and cut others with the bucket cutting edge.

Strengths It does kick ass - when I bought it, it would not climb up the hill at my place in the NC mtn. Turns out, the jack offs at the service place did not compensate for the loader and backhoe cylinders and it did not have enough hydraulic oil. After that, it can climb a tree - big 90 backhoe and sized front loader make it a good tractor overall. Traded in a 30HP - no comparison

Weaknesses Not sure about the stall and other bells/whistles.

Overall

Strengths Plenty of power at the PTO. It really pulls my 5 foot Woods brush bull(1,000 pounds)well. The HST plus option makes cutting around a pond easy. The front end loader also made quick work out of pushing up a large locust stump. Removal and reinstallation of the bucket is easy and the whole loader is not much harder to remove / install. The telescopic end links are nice for heavy implements and seem to function well.

Weaknesses Visibility of the bucket ends is poor, as is visibility of the outer edge of the rear tires. This makes navigating through the woods a bit tricky. The auto throttle advance got stuck in a slow creep forward once and almost caused a collision. Hopefully this is just an adjustment issue.

Overall I am satisfied with the power of the tractor, as well as the ground clearance. The advanced features of the HST plus transmission (stall guard and auto dual speed) are as of yet unproven. The good thing is you can always revert to standard HST operation if desired. The 36 month 0% financing was a nice surprise that enabled me to purchase this tractor earlier than would have been possible with traditional rates. Overall I am well pleased.
