Strengths Very nice cab, good visibility with loader.
Weaknesses Everything thats electrical will fail. Many problems with hydrolics, 4 pumps in 270hrs, many leaks.2007 model, lots of mods made by dealer to clear a few problems. Poor traction. 4wd hard to disengage. Not very fuel efficient either.
Overall Very nice tractor, but thats about all, not too reliable. Very good dealer sevice, but i'd rather have a good reliable tractor than great service. Not pleased with unit.

Strengths I have 40 acres and this machine does everthing I ask from it. From road grading, to eath moving, to unloading hay bales; it does it all. I 400 hours on it and except for normal maintance, have not had to do anything to it. Very strong and HST is a real time saver. It is extremely manuverable and will turn on a dime.
Weaknesses Occasionally wish it was bigger!!!
Overall Best tractor I ever owned and will never buy anything else.

Strengths TC-45DA - Great strength, HST is the only way to go especially quick forward and reverse direction. Perfect for small farm 20 acres or less. I also pull a self contained 3 string hay baler.
Weaknesses None yet
Overall This is my 2nd New Holland Boomer tractor...my previous tractor was a 2002 TC-40D. I would of purchased another 40D, but an opportunity for my new TC-45DA came up so I purchased it. Excited to see what it's going to do.

Strengths The HST is great. I don't presently have a loader, but a friend has this same tractor with a loader and gear trans, and he has said often he wishes he had the HST. Lots of power for the weight and size of the tractor.
Weaknesses Front end is light, even with added weights. R4 tires are horrible for most of my applications, except lawn mowing. Some of the body integrity could be better...dash mounts, etc.
Overall If I had a loader on it, it might be the perfect tractor in this size category. The added weight of the loader would compensate for some of the things I ask of it. R1 tires should be standard, unless the primary use is lawn mowing. If that is the primary use, buy a smaller tractor.

Strengths Good all around tractor, quite powerful and easy to operate. Starts and operates well in all temperatures (I am in Canada and have operated the machine in -25 degrees weather quite often). Well balanced. Super short steering (without super steer option) makes it great for getting it tight to small areas.
Weaknesses Not crazy about HST (in general, not just on this unit). Slow transit speeds (max 12 mph). Also HST is good for loader work, but we operate a golf course and find the HST is impractical for long duration mowing and also robs the tractor of power over a conventional gear transmission.
Overall Great tractor for hobbiest. Lacks a little power as compared to a 45 hp gear transmission tractor. For our use the HST transmission is the downfall (but again not a specific complaint against the NH, but HST transmissions in general).
