Strengths Well powered, engine made by wauasha and used in several types of older tractors transmission is constant mesh shifts well, confusing to some people but is really simple. Clutch and brakes are excellent. Hyd system well planned and efficient. Weight to power ratio close to perfect. Good looking, fuel efficient, many parts are interchangeable with other brands.

Weaknesses Greatest weakness is front end is too heavy for steering system. The Shaganaw Steering is used on older Fords is not strong enough to withstand frontend loaders. Axel is too weak in the Super 55 but was beefed up and sufficient in the 550. PTO was too weak in the earlier models, there is 1 more clutch disk in the later models which accounted for a sufficiently strong PTO.

Overall Power steering in the later models solved the steering problems. Has the best brakes of any tractor made in the 50's and 60,s

Strengths Powerful, 2 speed trans 3 forward 1 rear, live lift and PTO, differental brakes, very good hydrualics, easy clutch, well planed ergonomics, easy to start, economical fuel consumption, HIGH Quality engine (diesel). EXT. hydrualics.

Weaknesses Front steering and axel should be stronger.

Overall Lots of them out there still running, built fron 1953 to 1975 as Oliver then Badged as White 2-44, Very high quality and dependable.
