Strengths Does a decent job for a paddle snow blower. Doesn't handle wet snow very well. Seems to be designed for dry powder snows.
Weaknesses The pin on the chute rotating rod broke about 3 weeks after the warranty ran out. Sears said that the pin was inferior, but didn't honor the repair under warranty. I am in the third year of use and the auger has already worn down to the metal in some places and is near the metal on others. They should have designed some sort of skid plate to keep the bottom from wearing away in normal use. I don't expect to get the fourth year out of it unless I fabricate some sort of skid plate to keep it from wearing out the auger.
I wasn't able to read any reviews before I bought this machine. If you read the reviews that are on Sears website you will see that there are more than 75 percent of them that don't recommend buying one. I don't recommend it either.
Overall Performance is decent for a single stage machine. Durability of the design is poor.
