Strengths

Weaknesses Poor workmanship and very bad design. The handles are linked with a rod that has pressure fit caps, a tight turn will force the load to "pop" the caps leaving the control pieces strewn in the snow. Impeller pins(NOT auger SHEER pins) are susceptible sheer and are difficult to easily fix or get at. The engine is a mediocre ruff running Techumseh but is more reliable than the rest of this machine. My new Troy has a Chinese MTD motor which runs like a top compared to the Techumseh, much more like a Honda or Kaw.

Overall Inexpensive. And proves that "Consumer Reports" can hit target on cost but not quality, since this machine was well rated when I bought it

Strengths Starts well, strong, reliable

Weaknesses Going into deep snow, the snow over the top can stuff up the muffler. The driveway gravel wore out the chute top and I replaced it. Grips painful to hang on to after a few hours.

Overall Good value, but not enough for my 1/4 mi drivway

Weaknesses Everything... Its made by MTD. The 9hp Techumseh engine runs ruff. The snow chute blew off the 1st time I used it. I found several nuts and bolts that were only finger tight. Very poor quality control means junk.

Overall "JUNK" I'm sorry I bought it.
