Strengths The Steiner 230 Diesal Tractor is the Best Steiner Tractor i have had out of all 3 before ,,, I first drove a 420 ,, then two 220 steiners ,, and now a 230 . This Tractor Never Quit !!! For Three years , i did a tonne of work with it , Going into the Forth Year ,,, Of course your going to have a few replacement issues on Commonly Used areas ,, ie , Rims , Wheels , etc ,,, But this Machine is a TANK !!!!

Strengths fast moving, nice cut when it worked, was in shop more hours than i had mowing time. Was in the shop 5 different times, each time promising that the 30 year tractor i purchased was finally fixed. Found out it was only partly assembled at the plant. The kubota engine went at 85 hrs. The unit could hardly pick up the 72 inch deck from the begining. It always seemed to struggle with many loads. I demanded a new unit. After many calls to the factory (jacobsen textron.)which i had to do on my own and not the authorized dealer, they sent me a brand new one. They unloaded the new 230 28hp unit, put my 72 inch deck on. and it would not pick it up at all. They sent a tech up to shim the hydraulics......Its a weak machine....Its been in my garage for over 6 months with zero mowing hours they refuse to give me my money back....they saying now that the 72 inch deck is too heavy.....and i would have to settle on a 60" deck.....sorry i purchased it to mow 5 acres and needed a 72 inch deck...its going to court now 2/3/07 to get my money back on a 30 year tractor that couldn't last 100 hrs.

Overall Very unreliable and overpriced weak hydraulics i would have rather used a lever than the hydraulics to pick my mower deck up. It took 9 seconds for the deck to lift up all the way when it worked.
