Weaknesses None that I have found.
Overall I bought this tractor at Lowe's after someone brought it back for warranty repair(replaced drive belt pulley).I suspect this is what other reviewers are having problems with. The original pulley installed is the wrong size and needs to be replaced with the correct size.

Overall I like it. Figured I would give a good review as I know most people don't bother posting + experiences. I just lost the trans for the first time in 2-3 years and was looking for info on a fix. Hopefully just the belt.

Strengths The turning radis is great. Cast iron front end is great along with crash-bumper bar. Starts very easily.
Weaknesses The only problem I have had besides a broken "pully brake spring" that I replaced in about 2 minutes is the bent blades. I am replacing the blades for the first time in 2 years this weekend so we'll see how it does.

EASY TO USE
Weaknesses FROM DAY ONE DRIVE BELT SLIPS OFF.
HAVE REPLACED MOWER BELTS AND STILL SLIPS BADLY.

Strengths Relatively Cheap, mechnically simple to work with.
Weaknesses Typical stamped sheet metal construction of the mowers of this class.
My problem has been with the CVT drive belt falling off. It's easy to put it back but very annoying that it happens every time I drive fast over a bump.

Strengths Cranks easily.
Weaknesses My mom bought this mower two years ago. Both my son and I use it to cut her mostly flat lawn. The Drive belt comes off easily and frequently. I'm installing the third drive belt in two years.
Overall Way more trouble than it's worth. I load my own mower in a truck and haul rather than use this one located at the site where I cut.

Strengths starts easy
Weaknesses Blades suck. Why doesn't Troy Bilt make a replacement blade that is straight without the bends built in. Forget the mulch. I would rather have durable blades. Hit anything or even look at the blades wrong and they bend.
Overall Would not purchase another Troy bilt mower if this is the best they can do.

Strengths strong engine - fast gear
Weaknesses mower deck attachment. Pulleys loosen. Mower belt keeps falling off pulleys. I replaced the belt. I have to take the whole deck off and redo the belt often. I am lucky if I can finish half the yard before taking off the deck, loosen a pulley, put the belt back on, tighten all pulleys, reconnect mower deck - very time consuming and not fun.
Overall The tractor engine runs like a charm.
The mower deck is a POS.

Strengths Looks good, ergonomic, and plenty of power for the price
Weaknesses Drive Belt slips, parts availability
Overall Great Mower for the price. Hey, you get what you pay for. If I had spent the 5K$ for a Deere, I'd expect more but for a low cost mower, I think it performs quite well. (I have 2 acres of hillside to mow)
